you asked how it worked. i answered. if you werent' confused, why did you ask?

clinton did help the situation by spending less than he was budgeted. w did not by spending way more than he was budgeted. and obama got 3T worth of debt from iraq from w. thanks alot!
My question was sarcastic. We had a surplus due to accounting tricks. The DEBT grew under Clinton every year.

I was pointing out that the politicians were lying to us. Sure, it appears that there was a surplus because we were stealing from social security year after year. However, you cant take money out of one pocket and put it in another pocket and claim you just made income.

So, go look at the debt and then tell me with a straight face that there was actually a surplus.

That's right. It didn't go down, it stayed the same, until the Republicans entered the picture led by GW Bush, increased the debt to what, by the time Obama had to pick up that bag of shit left by the GOP,at his feet.
What was that sum? Like a trillon fucking dollars?
Anyway

    • Mitt Romney railed on GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump in a major address Thursday, calling him a "phony," "fraud," "con man," and "fake."

"Let me put it plainly," he said. "If we Republicans choose Donald Trump as our nominee, the prospects for a safe and prosperous future are greatly diminished."

Romney's speech came as the Republican establishment grows increasingly worried about the growing possibility of a Trump nomination. It was delivered two days after Trump scored a dominating victory in the Super Tuesday series of primaries and caucuses.

Romney's speech — remarkable in that the party's most recent nominee was launching an unprecedented assault against its current frontrunner — went after Trump's business history, policy proposals, and fitness for office.

Listing many of Trump's previous businesses, like Trump Steaks, Trump Airlines, and the controversial Trump University, Romney said Trump wasn't a "business genius."

After then speaking about a remark Trump made on "60 Minutes," in which Trump said the US should let ISIS overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad, Romney called Trump's foreign policy "reckless."

"Donald Trump tells us that he is very, very smart," Romney said. "I'm afraid that when it comes to foreign policy he is very, very not smart."

"Here's what I know: Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud," Romney said.

"His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University," he continued. "He's playing the American public for suckers. He gets a free ride to the White House, and all we get is a lousy hat."
so he's not endorsing trump?

too little, too late..the authoritarian @Fogdog was spot on it took (nostalgia..Make America Great Again modeling) is off the chain and to a whole other level.

I personally blame bottle feeding over breast that was all the rage 40's, 50's and to mid 60's. You men didn't get enough of mommy..

this was when the bulk of the authoritarian (now in charge) fondly remembers..those of authority..mom, dad, teacher, principal, crossing guard, policeman, mailman, military etc. ALWAYS made things better when life went awry..and it is to this memory, they cling..but in the millennium, dangerous, basing a place we can NEVER return no matter who is in charge..childhood.

the world is a different place..so guys..no teat for you!

I am not confusing anything. My statement was that the DEBT has gone up year after year regardless of who is in office. My point is that neither political party is helping the situation.
If you are saying that Trump should not promise tax cuts because they would double the deficit and add 1T to the debt over 10 years, then we are in agreement.

The first point about 94 million out of work is another made up wingnut myth. http://www.factcheck.org/2015/05/huckabee-repeats-discredited-claims/

The other stuff is just cherry picked from a pile of pretty good economic news that developed under the Obama administration.

You are such a shill, GOP.
It's not a myth. Why do you get my attention, pretend you have a point to make, and then don't?

Obama built on the failures of Bush, and now Hillary wants to build on Obama' failures.
It's time for a change from somebody outside the establishment.

Obama is not an authoritarian.

During the period you describe when bottle feeding was supplanting breast feeding and conservatives were using that argument as a reason to keep women form joining the work force, there was a saying "my country right or wrong". That's authoritarian.

An authoritarian style is being used when a leader dictates policies and procedures, decides what goals are to be achieved, and directs and controls all activities without any meaningful participation by the subordinates.

And do please keep your shirt on.

What a mindless dumbass.

"There are 93.8 million Americans who are not in the work force, but only 6.1 million of them want a job, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. As we have written, the vast majority are students, stay-at-home parents, retired seniors and others who do not want to work. In fact, 37.3 million of the 93.8 million, or 40 percent, are 65 years old or older."

In February, according to the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics, the nation’s civilian noninstitutional population, consisting of all people 16 or older who were not in the military or an institution, reached 252,577,000. Of those, 158,890,000 participated in the labor force by either holding a job or actively seeking one.

If you and Hillary think people are landing good jobs, and the economy is doing well; she will lose the election

I'm going to have to insist that you stop using facts. It skewers the argument.

So, you think retired people should go back into the work force? Students, stay at home moms too?

Dude, this is the time when the old "get of that dead horse" meme should be posted. You lost this round. Try again with something better.

a budget surplus isn't making income. it's spending less than what you were given.

i don't think congress should get a paycheck until they come up with at least a balanced budget.
If they had a budget surplus, why didnt the debt drop?

Again, it was an accounting trick and didnt help the American people at all...
