Trips to the Dentist

Turns out the tooth is too far below the gum line, I have to see an oral surgeon on the 9th for a consultation

My dentist said sedation is likely, never done that before. Anyone have any experience going under?
ask for nitrous first to get you relaxed and then you wake up and it's over. just make sure your pants aren't pulled down to your ankles like mine were.

Yes I have , and you will be fine. Michael Jackson is the only person that I have heard of having problems with sedation in recent memory. After a really bad experience as a teenager in a Juvenal detention center without any anesthetic ( like the way humans did it forever) Wha! I almost always choose to go under. I'm a real baby about it. Also, if ya call back and try to get them to put ya under for fun, they probably won't,;just say'n, LOL

had a tooth removed a few months back.. its a back molar so its not noticeable thankfully lol.. but yeah, i had a bad infected abscess and i hate hospitals.. i put it off til i couldnt anymore. the way the dude pulled out my tooth was pretty brutal to watch lol.. he was pulling hard as fuck, but he gave me 3 shots of novacain.. so i didnt feel a thing. tooth pain is the worst, get it taken care of

Oh yeah, I've gone down that route before too! The terror outweighs the pain until it doesn't anymore! lol By the end I was begging to go to the dentist. I remember that well so I'm taking care of it before it starts hurting. I've never been sedated before but everyone I talk to says it's just like switching off your brain for an hour, you don't even remember it, a little apprehensive about that.

I'm not really worried about that, the place I went to looked super professional. They had a bunch of multi-million dollar machines around and everything looked very clean. I'm worried about being sedated, and a bit about the IV since I'm not a big fan of needles, but it has to be done so I might as well just get it over with :/

it'll make you very foggy and high. not everyone likes that feeling.

What do you have to get done? I've had a root canal and all I had was novicane.
Oh I'll one up you, I've had two root canals with just novocaine!

On this one I'm just skipping the root canal and going straight for the extraction. The number 15 tooth, top left side of my mouth, second from the back in front of the wisdom tooth. What makes this require sedation is that apparently the tip of the root is too close to the bottom of my sinus so my regular dentist suggested this oral surgeon and he suggested the drugs

I'm betting the anxiety builds till next Tuesday :spew:

I've had four wisdom teeth removed at once, woke up when it was all over. Everything went fine. Try not to let yourself think about it at all until AFTER the procedure. All you need to do is show up.

Yikes! Thanks to those two teeth I had removed before (remember those root canals I was telling you about?), I had plenty of room for the wisdom teeth to fit

Yeah that's what I'm trying to do, I keep telling myself the worst part is going to be the pinch in the arm. Did you go with the nitrous or IV for your wisdom teeth removal? What was that experience like?

I went with the I.V., for four wisdom teeth you'd want to be out, for any extraction really. The recovery is a drag, but with only one tooth it should be a breeze. must keep it clean with salt water so you don't get dry socket.
