Soiless medium considered hydro or soil?

all you have shown with this post is that you do not have any idea what you are speaking about. And that your reading comprehension is not commendable either.
if you knew anything about organics and the way the plants utilize real organic nutrients you would understand that this post is wrong. Maybe go read a bit on living soil. Also you can go through my threads and posts on here over the past 8 or so years and then get back to me as to whether my soil/media is shitty. Also if you are mixing organics so hot that you can flush out a majority of nutrient buildup and you're killing plants, you should probably just quit growing cuz you can't follow basic directions.

Yep I was speaking specifically about peat based mixes treated as soil I'm a grow setup. But saves reading comprehension is a bit lacking it seems.

It was not your hydro comparison I was responding to but your “better for the novice grower”. Why? because I think that peat is better for the novice...which is what I stated. I wouldnt treat peat as strictly hydro as its not, that said its not soil as it is missing loam, clay and organic material.

Soils round the Uk are generally 50-70% peat and the rest organic debris, loam and sand/clay.

Id say peat is better treated as a soil but it will support some hydro principles, i ran some peat like i would hydro rockwool and it was a total fail. Im still trying to use my last bag up as i want to go back to soil.

No matter what you treat it as, if it has lime in then ph'ing is pointless. Oldtimer writes that peat dosent support organics any where as good as soil.

Promix and I think Sunshine#4 probably account for over 90% of the peat "based mixes" here. Neither are soil. Sunshine is a little closer as it adds some sort of organic fert but Sorry, you are just wrong. Put down the shovel.

I don't have time for this. If you can't comprehend at least 60% of what you read I can't converse with you. If you want to go back and actually read and maybe take notes on the convo olive and I were having you would maybe have a foot here, but until then have a nice day I don't have the time or energy for a person of your intellect/reading comprehension. Do you start autos out with a flower-focused light? Obviously timing goes out the window, but does intensity matter after seedling stage?

I dunno, all i have to work with is floro tubes and 1k de's. The plant shown started under on single t8 tube, then went to 8x four foot t5s. Then to the 1k de's, then finished under the t5s. I ran it 24hrs straight with light. I actually thought it would give me around three oz but when i weighed it i was very impressed when it showed over five. Im a firm believer in HID lighting for density, especially hps.

Im actually thinking about starting to grow some autos. 8-9 weeks and 4-8 oz per plant with the right strains? Why not right? And if you look at that plant, you can see how that 150.5 gr plant took me an hour to trim. Thats a pound in four hours with fiskars.

I have no reason to lie about how many oz i got off of a plant. This is a learning site, if im lying on a learning site it kinda defeats the purpose of trying to teach anyone to be a better grower.

Its like remember when i told you i can pull 2 lbs a light and you made me go show you pictures of what two pounds a light looks like? So i did. And then you said that its still not proof... Even though i know it was something like 923 grams per light i cant make you believe it was.

Dave i dont get why youre so skeptical of real growers like were all lying to you. 2 lbs a light is possible, hps bulbs are better for flowering than MH, and that plant was 150.5 grams. These are all facts.
