Soiless medium considered hydro or soil?

all you have shown with this post is that you do not have any idea what you are speaking about. And that your reading comprehension is not commendable either.
if you knew anything about organics and the way the plants utilize real organic nutrients you would understand that this post is wrong. Maybe go read a bit on living soil. Also you can go through my threads and posts on here over the past 8 or so years and then get back to me as to whether my soil/media is shitty. Also if you are mixing organics so hot that you can flush out a majority of nutrient buildup and you're killing plants, you should probably just quit growing cuz you can't follow basic directions.

Yep I was speaking specifically about peat based mixes treated as soil I'm a grow setup. But saves reading comprehension is a bit lacking it seems.
The only person who said anything about peat based pots treated like soil is you. Most everything else is arguing issues new to the discussion or just plain invention. You're just one of many here that argues hoping the last post is all thats read. How about you too start a thread that asks the question "Is peat considered soil or soilless?" Same deal. ?
Instead though, let us start over and maybe clear up the reading comprehension problem. You bounced in pronouncing soil to be better for the novice grower. Yes, your comparison was to hydro. It was not your hydro comparison I was responding to but your “better for the novice grower”. Why? because I think that peat is better for the novice...which is what I stated. Because YOU did not understand where I was coming from, YOU kept trying to pound home your hydro example while trying to convince me of the idiocy that peat is soil. Anyone who wishes to read our entire exchange and has more than a double digit IQ would see exactly this.

At what point did I state that peat was soil?

Was there maybe a "based mix" afterwards?

If you were trying to make a point about your reading comprehension.... Well done.

I wouldnt treat peat as strictly hydro as its not, that said its not soil as it is missing loam, clay and organic material.

Soils round the Uk are generally 50-70% peat and the rest organic debris, loam and sand/clay.

Id say peat is better treated as a soil but it will support some hydro principles, i ran some peat like i would hydro rockwool and it was a total fail. Im still trying to use my last bag up as i want to go back to soil.

No matter what you treat it as, if it has lime in then ph'ing is pointless. Oldtimer writes that peat dosent support organics any where as good as soil.

Nice backpedal.

Promix and I think Sunshine#4 probably account for over 90% of the peat "based mixes" here. Neither are soil. Sunshine is a little closer as it adds some sort of organic fert but Sorry, you are just wrong. Put down the shovel.

I don't have time for this. If you can't comprehend at least 60% of what you read I can't converse with you. If you want to go back and actually read and maybe take notes on the convo olive and I were having you would maybe have a foot here, but until then have a nice day I don't have the time or energy for a person of your intellect/reading comprehension. Repeating yourself to what is essentially a wall seems insane to me.

Oh wait!!! Sorry! I was wrong!!!
The lyrics to the Bob Marley song refered to "Running away" not Flushing Away. 8-)

Do you start autos out with a flower-focused light? Obviously timing goes out the window, but does intensity matter after seedling stage?
I dunno, all i have to work with is floro tubes and 1k de's. The plant shown started under on single t8 tube, then went to 8x four foot t5s. Then to the 1k de's, then finished under the t5s. I ran it 24hrs straight with light. I actually thought it would give me around three oz but when i weighed it i was very impressed when it showed over five. Im a firm believer in HID lighting for density, especially hps.

That particular plant was 150.5 grams. It was over five oz. heres the thread its on, you can check it out. https://www.rollitup.org/t/cali-connection-grape-kush-search-for-the-purple.893517/page-4
Im actually thinking about starting to grow some autos. 8-9 weeks and 4-8 oz per plant with the right strains? Why not right? And if you look at that plant, you can see how that 150.5 gr plant took me an hour to trim. Thats a pound in four hours with fiskars.
Dude. Just pointing to another thread where you made the same claims does not make it any more true... Lol. But sure, I will choose to believe you in spite if the pictures. ;)

Hydroponics is a subset of hydroculture and is a method of growing plantsusing mineral nutrient solutions, in water, without soil. Terrestrial plants may be grown with their roots in the mineral solution only, or in an inert medium, such as perlite or gravel. ~ wiki

Soil is the mixture of minerals, organic matter, gases, liquids, and the countless organisms that together support life on Earth. Soil is a natural body known as the pedosphere and which performs four important functions: it is a medium for plant growth; it is a means of water storage, supply and purification; it is a modifier of Earth's atmosphere; it is a habitat for organisms; all of which, in turn, modify the soil. ~wiki

So in tearms of what the dictionary defines hydro as being, would make soiless not hydro. Soiless peat is infact a type of soil as the definition of soil shows.

Well the point was so that you could have a look to the point where i made the "claim". It was made way before you guessed the weight way wrong. I have no reason to lie about how many oz i got off of a plant. This is a learning site, if im lying on a learning site it kinda defeats the purpose of trying to teach anyone to be a better grower.

Its like remember when i told you i can pull 2 lbs a light and you made me go show you pictures of what two pounds a light looks like? So i did. And then you said that its still not proof... Even though i know it was something like 923 grams per light i cant make you believe it was.

No, it in fact does not meet the definition. See part about countless organisms. Nice to try and bail out your buddy.

Yeah, was gonna say Deja Vu. I am now happy to feed your delusions.

I actually wasnt trying to bail anyone out. Youre good at being wrong dave. I was actually just trying to add a little clarity to the thread. I really dont know what points you or anyones argueing really. But since you think im wrong please explain why peat based soiless mixes dont fit the definition of soil. Why dont you start with the promix hp that you and i both use....

Also dave, how exactly is anyone supposed to "prove" weight through a photo? I could post pictures of a bag of weed on a scale with the numbers showing, but there could be a rock in the bag too. (And not the rock hard nugs i grow, a real stone)

Did you read my last post? Which part don't you understand? You think Promix is teaming with organisms? Are you depending on them to feed your plant?

Dave i dont get why youre so skeptical of real growers like were all lying to you. 2 lbs a light is possible, hps bulbs are better for flowering than MH, and that plant was 150.5 grams. These are all facts.

I think it starts with a believable spokesperson. ;)
