I meant to say thanks for the link. I'll check it out. Respectfully I couldnt imagine anything easier, faster, or more reliable than my home made easy cloner. One week from cutting to transplant! Cheap, easy to make, and simple to use. You dont even have to add anything to the water if you dont want to. Clonex, Hormex, or 100ppm bloom only makes a day or two difference.check out growzorb...a new product to consider

Why do you use bloom rather than grow?I meant to say thanks for the link. I'll check it out. Respectfully I couldnt imagine anything easier, faster, or more reliable than my home made easy cloner. That makes sense, cheers. No I never did understand the point of giving fertiliser to a plant with no roots, but each to their ownBecause grow has nitrogen and you dont want to give a plant with no roots nitrogen. Actually a plant with no roots cant absorb any nutrients so I dont even know why people are using it at all unless they're adding it once they notice roots starting. Either way it needs to be very weak. I use water and a drop or two of Hormex rooting solution. That's it and with 3-4 days I have roots and within 7 they are well rooted and ready to pot up.
Are you talking about the plugs, the liquid, or both?Root riot gets my vote, good in hydro or soil. Way better than peat pellets imo.
Faster than a aerocloner? The plugs they r like rapid rooters only premoistened.
Probably easier to keep track of different strains with the root plugs. How is that material in Hydroton for DWC?Bout the same, aero is best all around, but root riot is better with large numbers and multiple strains. At least for me...
I keep my moms in DWC and I grow my clones I ebb & flow buckets with hydroton. So I'd say it works very well.Probably easier to keep track of different strains with the root plugs. How is that material in Hydroton for DWC?
I never tried the flood method, is it a pain in the ass?I keep my moms in DWC and I grow my clones I ebb & flow buckets with hydroton. So I'd say it works very well.
When you strike your cuttings, use a razor blade and put them directly into ph balanced water so they dont get air bubbles in them. Doesnt hurt to put a drop or two of clonex or hormex in the water. If you do this your clones will be more successful, root faster, and if you dont get to them right away they wont wilt. You have about 24hrs but the faster you prepare them after striking the better off you are. With the cloner you just plug it in, take your cuttings, put them in the holders and your done. I really like it. Sometimes I use fog too, does just as well. You can even just use an air pump also. Most cloners have air pumps and misting nozzels both.I've tried the jiffy pellets and hated them...too hard to control the moisture level. I don't like the rockwool much either. I like the rapid rooters or root riots. They take a little longer than the homemade cloner, but I find that they are less hassle and with my grow schedule, I'm not in any hurry anyway, and with Getaway's seafood juice, they turn out beautiful. I cut some clones the other day and got interrupted by a domestic crisis before I got a chance to put them in a tray, and by the time I realized it they were completely wilted. I put them in the tray, sprayed them down good with the seaweed juice, and in a few hours they were doing great.
My success rate is nearly 100% with the root riots, I use a razor blade and put them directly into the seafood juice mixture. The only reason the ones wilted, was that I left them in nearly dry root riots and they bounced right back when put into the tray. I don't like the extra space and equipment (like pumps etc) that are involved with the auto cloners, and I have a 3 week leeway in my growing schedule to root the clones. I did some on 4/24 and they are well rooted now. I agree if you're in a big hurry the auto cloners might be best, but if you are set up like me with a 2 month perpetual, it works out fine. When you strike your cuttings, use a razor blade and put them directly into ph balanced water so they dont get air bubbles in them. Thats great! I like to learn about what works for others as well. Me? Im speedy type a fellow, where it counts anyway. Best move I ever made switching from DWC to ebb&flow buckets. I'm getting to old to carry them buckets.I never tried the flood method, is it a pain in the ass?
