Week 5 Update!!!!
3rd day of flower!

So after a few weeks I'm down to just one plant. If you read in my first post, the blue pot was always my personal favorite. So needless to say I was thrilled to see those sweet white hairs. Especially after killing the green pot, due to it being hung like lex steele lol.

Nothing new has been done. Still watering with RO water. Thinking of getting some bloom nutes within the next few days, but I'm skeptical because I know the miracle grow has ALOT of nutes already and I don't want to overload her. So I may just play it by eye.

Did some light trimming because it was so bushy, to the point where I was folding leaves under to get better light on the growing tops. At last count there were 5-6 tops .

P.s.....the piece of cardboard is not covered because I have the door open and I have to remove that piece of reflector to do so. When closed the box is 100% covered.

Update: 2nd week of flower

Last post was 3 days in, here's just a few pics. Nothing has changed as far as setup and watering. Don't really mess with it now that it's in flower. Just check the lights when they turn on, just to make sure there don't need moved. The plant is getting taller day by day.

Random FLOWER update: almost into week 3 of flower. Thought I would post a few pics. Sorry for the short angles. I just took a few quick pics lol.

Tell me what you think, I'll take FULL plant pic when I do my week 3 update on Saturday. These pics don't show the other tops. Just mostly the main stem and main top.

So I my plants as of today April 1, are a week and 2 days from sprouting. I germinated them in purified water until the Root popped out, it was about a day. I planted them in a biodegradable pot with miracle grow. I didn't know about the negative opinions about miracle grow until after I planted them. Anyway, I kept the soil moist until it sprouted, so about once a day if that. Once they came up I choose two healthy looking ones and put them under three 23 watt (100watt equivalent) CFLs. Inside a box lined with aluminum foil. Also did not know about the negative opinions on this either. They were in the box with a 18/6 light schedule for 5 days and then I switched the box out.

They are now in a 4×3 grow box lined with mylar windshield reflectors. I have 4 23 watt ( 100watt equivalent). And 2 13 watt (60 watt equivalent) BOTH ARE CFLs.
They are still in miracle grow and I have already moved them into bigger pots. Same 18/6 light cycle, and I have added a fan that runs during light hours.

Tell me what you think guys and girls, sorry for the long read. I'll keep posting updates weekely with pics.

I would suggest using Nature's Care if you really want to grow with MG. MG isn't really made for that, with time released nutes and such. Also, eventually you should upgrade to HID or LED. I would suggest LED since you're a hobbyist who probably likes his electric bill where it's at. You lose just a bit of yield, but quality is top tier and on par with HID.

Planned on switching soil on my next grow. Already bought the MG and had it planted before I did a little deeper reading, chalk that up to a overzealous eager hobbyist. Have any suggestions on good soils?

I may change lights, I haven't really thought about it yet. The electric bill wouldn't be an issue, not to sound boastful but it's just me and my wife/kid, so it's not that tight. It's just about the price of some of these lights. Im the type of person who won't drop alot of money all at once. I would never pay over 150 on lights to be honest. Maybe if this was for profit than it would be fine. When it's giving me no gain on my return than its kind of overkill.

But I've seen some LEDs that are not crazy expensive, although idk the least about them honestly. What sort of wattage would I need for maybe 2 plants? I kind of like my CFLs though lol. Maybe it's more sentimental than because of efficiency.

Ive got mine under a 250w hps cost me 50 with ballast and shade.

Sorry guys, been meaning to do a picture update. But I broke my foot the other day so I'm kind of out of commission at the moment. I'm on crutches so bending over to take pics is hard.

I'll see if my wife can get some pics later. Flowering is going great.

Sorry I'm a few weeks late. But here are the harvest pics for my first grow. Came out to about a half oz dry. Was a smooth and satisfying smoke. I'm almost a week and a half into my second grow. I'll post a new journal about it tomorrow. Just look for shady..
