You have to rememner, Cannabutter is way more concentrated than buds. I make mine like STUPID strong. I mean like 2 onces of pure TLO Bud only in one pack of butter. Cause we are medical growers and cant have extra weed around so I got to get " rid" of it. They dont seem to care about the butter, tintures and oils YET anyway. So I am very liberal with the amounts. So its VERY strong and my dog is only 4 lbs. That is WAY different than a 100 lbs dog eating just the buds. PLUS with butter, its Decarbed and much stronger than just say eating a fresh bud. So just because a bigger dog or any dog eats fresh buds and is ok does not mean it applys to all situations. Smaller dog, stronger dose, Decarbed etc. Different outcome. This is not a one size fits all deal. If one of my big dogs ate fresh buds I would not worry as much. Plus a lot of the dogs died from shit like puking and choking, hyperthermia of all things. Just wierd secondary shit like that. Or they get hurt staggering around. Just a BAD BAD deal all the way around. If we are users are not safe and people start posting how funny it is to get thier pets all fucked up the people who hate us stoners are going to use that as a excuse once again to make Weed out to be bad etc. I just saw a case in the news today. A family is suing cause thier asshole Father shot and killed thier mom after he had PARTIALLY ate a small little candy edible but then took massive pills with it and went off the deep end.
They are blaming the weed . This is bad for ALL of us. I want to be able to keep growing and enjoying and we have a right I think. No one should be able to take a fucking plant away from us. And claiming the weed made him KILL someone REALLY just pisses me off. Its SO ignorant . Why not sue the damn big pharm who made the pills? I mean that is where the money is, not with some poor Mom and Pop edible company. Its sad. MILLIONS of folks use weed and we dont run around killing our family. That guy was fucked in the head to begin with and took pills but is now going to blame the weed.

She is totally fine now but not drinking as much as it seems she learned her lesson about getting into my coffee. But what got me upset is the blatant disregard for the animals. Its the people on here who thought it funny to video tape it like its some joke. When someone or something is suffering its NEVER a joke. PERIOD. If you think it IS funny then you are a fucked up piece of crap the world could do without.

My anger was at the people who have no sense for the better good of all of us or for the animals in thier care. I thought I had it where she could not get it. It was a simple mistake, one I will NEVER make again. I just dont want to see anyone else go through what I did. Thank you for saying you are glad she is OK. It was a horrible and long night. I have neen too high myself on edibles but I know WHY and what I did to get that way. A animal has no idea what the hell is going on or what the hell happened to them. We are humans need to watch out for them and I did not do a very good job.

It happened to me too.

Baked a sheet pan of "special" fudge brownies for a local hemp fest and ate about 1/4 of it w/ friends. After the event I put the pan in the back seat of the car and on the way home got rear ended. Got through the cop interview and didn't freak much since neither I nor the guy w/ me were all tye-dyed out and looking like obvious stoners, but still shook me a bit because I was pretty high for the interview and it was my 1st accident.

Got home and crashed and in the morning did the responsible thing and let the dog (75-80lbs. Rott/Blk Lab) out for morning business. After a while and not hearing a bark to get let in I open the door and call for her.

No answer.

Well I have to go out and get the pan of brownies I left in the car yest. so I'll look for the dog too.
Get to the car and peek in through the OPEN windows and see a gleaming clean sheet pan.

Oh shit.

Walk around the car and see her standing there head hunched down. I call to her and the head comes up and she tries to walk towards me but seems to have forgotten she has hind legs for a couple of steps but then regains motor skills. I get her into the house (I had to carry her up 3 stairs) and she stumbles to the living room and plops down for about 6 hours w/ me freaking out, not because they were "special" brownies but because they were FUDGE brownies.

I had recently learned about theobromine in chocolate and how it was like cocaine for dogs and most of them (and some people) binge to death on stimulants. I was looking for labored fast panting, involuntary twitching, red gums and eye sockets, etc. all signs of a hyped dog but I had a slow even breathing black lump asleep on the living room floor.
If you visit the link above it recommends phenobarbital for a remedy. I was happy I had used a couch lock indica I didn't like very much for the butter in the brownies.

When she did awake she ATTACKED her water bowl (I filled it 3 times w/ 1 1/2qt.) and then wanted out where she proceeded to have black runny diarrhea. Came back in and slept for another 15 hrs. and then was fine and pretended like she had no idea what was so special about that sheet pan. Back to her old self.

This is one time I'm glad the brownies she got to were spiked. One of the smarter dogs I've had but DEFINITELY the biggest weasel pain in the ass so I have no issue with laughing about it now.

I drink coffee before bed :) I can sleep anywhere, any time no problems. In my car, on a kitchen table, through a couple of hurricanes! Coffee has no chance against my sleeping powahz.
