So if you only had males of a strain you really want, you could reverse it, it would grow calyxes and would pollinate itself and give you 25% female progeny.

I tried to get chunk to think about doin that with his prize male! I wish we would all inbreed a little more before we outcross! Its another step from a simple straight cross but well worth it when you see the traits you want passing to progeny reliably. Less of a crapshoot... Self that bitch and find a baby that is identical or better to the moms traits you want then make the cross. Take your prize male and self him onto himself and find the girls and youll know what he carries and passes on his X without guessing or hoping.

Got notes starting up at the mag, going to cull some culls now that my sour blue stinker popped balls, been watchin this one from the jump! Sour Blue with real sharp notes that overwhelms the glue fam funk on the bottom, its still there and deep and rich but the sharp blue rides on top hard and is the dominant note, makes my nose twitch hehe.... Lots of variation in the terps, some deep dark inky blue cheese chemyness just under the glue funk with the glue fam riding on top, some sweet blue riding the glue funk hard and the sharp sour ones! onward and upward gents!
Inbred my blue sats 2.2 to f3 with hard single selections of intersex resistance and to drive her to pure indica side, the massive frost production has been a given.
My blue sats 2.2 f3 are now all growing like sour bubble type indicas but with vigor and branching that are outstanding.

I'll be thinking about this next time myself, it seems like a very logical thing to do to find the traits and expressions you want in the offspring. Thanks so much for sharing the info Tony, I know I really appreciate it and I'm pretty sure others do too.
Oh mate, stop it, you're making me moist with all this talk of the blueberry/blue satellite work you are doing, it's been my number one strain since I first got beans in 98 from Marc Emery. I'm kinda glad (for me anyway, not for your selling) that people a have slept on them for a bit, it gives me a chance to jump on them when the cash situation comes good, I'd say a month maybe...cheers for the heads up on the 1 for 1 deal too mate, I may just hang off until then and take up the offer...I'm very impressed with the way you breed and are open on discussing it! Thank Tom Hill, he kicked my ass into learning more math and thinking about what I'm doing before I do it. Then test test test, progeny test,,, refine, poke prod,,, Get to know your lines... One offing everything is not a plan! I think with a little bit of focus lots of guys can do special things, we have seen amazing shit from "closet breeders" for years, so lets get smart about what we are doing. You will see results! Take the extra run or two or more to inbreed your stuff before your outcross,,, You will be glad you did.
