Cool! I'm making something similar.. I have a old air purifier and I'm adding carbon/filter to it.. Hopefully it will clean this skunk out of the room haha. Thought I would mention it to give you an idea.View attachment 3689291
Thanks, glad you asked because I just took a picture of the carbon filter to post. I have a cheap inline duct fan (6") with an activated carbon filter sheet folded up on itself to create an air pocket attached as a scrubber.
It's not the best odor control (you can smell them when the door/windows to my room have been shut), but it only cost $15 for enough for 2 or 3 filters worth of activated carbon. That and my tent is so small that I think I'd have to custom make a carbon fan to fit. My 6" duct fan has to have a 6"to5" reducer to fit out of tents duct hole, so that makes the fan even longer and therefore a spot for a filter even shorter.
I also have a small cut of the carbon filter sheet laid inside the exhaust outlet of the tent to dampen noise/clean the air a tiny bit more on its way out.
Definitely not the perfect setup, even with a dimmer on my online duct fan it is pretty noisy...
Haha.. That is sad! Maybe you can keep her and purposely hermy her, you can make feminized seeds from it.The very sad Skunk #11 that will never know life beyond this solo cup. Not expecting much off of it, but I just couldn't bring myself to kill it. Usually water this one once daily.
Very nice, I was thinking of doing the same and making a separate filter for outside the tent to help scrub the air. You'll have to let me know how it doesCool! I'm making something similar.. Oh man, do feminized seeds come from Hermy's? I didn't know that, threw a bunch of them out once upon a time because a friend said Hermy seeds don't grow well. Some friend..Haha.. That is sad! Maybe you can keep her and purposely hermy her, you can make feminized seeds from it.
She's a Beauty, she looks well happy. bit thin and scragly but......The very sad Skunk #11
I've never done it before.. I just keep pollen in the freezer. From what I understand hermies produce what are called "nanners" or "bananas". They are filled with pollen and you pluck them out of the buds and pollinate another female for seeds. Thanks Pookat! Actually embarrassed to say that this isn't the first time I've left extras off to the side in solo cups... They've always produced at least a couple grams (and have been in far far worse growing conditions light/temp/fertilizer wise so I'm hoping I can hit it BIG and pull an eighth off of this one)She's a Beauty, she looks well happy. bit thin and scragly but......
Ohh gotcha, I don't want to sacrifice any of these females to seeds but if I had a larger scale grow I'd definitely be up for making my own seeds... Thats why you got the scraggler. put her to seed, high chance the seeds will be #1 grade,do 3-4 harvest on her, shell self seed, i've had some beauty's come from the runt'sI don't want to sacrifice any of these females to seeds
Oh, I thought they meant to say I'd need to hermie the runt plant and use those male pods to then fertilize another female. The little female is actually doing pretty well so I'm tempted to let her finish upThats why you got the scraggler. put her to seed, high chance the seeds will be #1 grade,do 3-4 harvest on her, shell self seed, i've had some beauty's come from the runt's
you can do both...if your wanting to try, snip the flowers off her just before they're fully ready but cut them close as you can to the bud side, maybe leave a small stalky bit 1-3mm, she'll go back to veg for a while but leave lights as flower mode, 2-4wk she'll re-bud, do this 2 or three time but look for the (i call 'em coconuts), hermie bits....you cant miss 'em, (they're faster to mature than the flowers) they look like Bannanas when open, cut one or two off before they open, hang in a jar warm, get pollen and fertilize the flowers you want to cross. easyhermie the runt plant
