Please bear with me as I'm pretty much a newbie. This is my second grow (Super Lemon Haze). My first I ended up ruining as I misted the plant shortly before harvest, reading after the fact that it was a big no-no ruining some really nice trichomes. On that grow (using a 5 gal. container) I tried the LST by just bending branches to force more to develop. After it was about 2' I bent it by about 6" and put the SCROG in place. After I harvested I cut the plant off leaving about a 6" stalk which had 2 or 3 buds under 1/2" in size on it and switched it to veg lights out of curiosity, lo and behold it grew! As it grew I used forceps to crush the stems and put a bend in them numerous times over which caused it to branch out more. I now have a mass, and I do mean mass, which is 16" X 18" dia. and 6" tall, I'll try and add some pics. Now I don't know what to do, as I want to flip the lights. Should I trim some leaves to open it up to more light, when and how far above should I place the Scrog, after it comes through the Scrog should I do any pruning below, is there anything else I should do or watch for. One more thing, about half way through this grow I over-watered and had an outbreak of gnats, or fruit-flies. I let the plant really dryout a couple of weeks ago and got rid of the majority, occasionally I'll see one but nothing I'm concerned. I put that in for informational purposes for this follow-up. One thing for sure, I haven't over-watered since then. I don't know why but I've been finding spots on the leaves that look, feel, and tastes like water. The plant is in an alcove designed to hold a fridge in the basement, and there is a dehumidifier with the humidity @ 50%.
I realize I'm asking a lot and gave a lot of information that may not apply at all but figured it best to add it and let someone that knows what they're doing decide whether it is of help or not. It comes down to I have no idea what to do, I do believe I have the possibility of having a nice crop, just as there is the chance of ruining it like I did the last one by misting it. I am growing this for medicinal and I really can't afford to blow it, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
And just out of curiosity, I've read that plants that have been crushed have a good chance of having a higher THC level. Any thoughts on there being any truth in this or if it's an old wives tale?
