Really confused and could use some direction with 'supercropping'?

Please bear with me as I'm pretty much a newbie. This is my second grow (Super Lemon Haze). My first I ended up ruining as I misted the plant shortly before harvest, reading after the fact that it was a big no-no ruining some really nice trichomes. On that grow (using a 5 gal. container) I tried the LST by just bending branches to force more to develop. After it was about 2' I bent it by about 6" and put the SCROG in place. After I harvested I cut the plant off leaving about a 6" stalk which had 2 or 3 buds under 1/2" in size on it and switched it to veg lights out of curiosity, lo and behold it grew! As it grew I used forceps to crush the stems and put a bend in them numerous times over which caused it to branch out more. I now have a mass, and I do mean mass, which is 16" X 18" dia. and 6" tall, I'll try and add some pics. Now I don't know what to do, as I want to flip the lights. Should I trim some leaves to open it up to more light, when and how far above should I place the Scrog, after it comes through the Scrog should I do any pruning below, is there anything else I should do or watch for. One more thing, about half way through this grow I over-watered and had an outbreak of gnats, or fruit-flies. I let the plant really dryout a couple of weeks ago and got rid of the majority, occasionally I'll see one but nothing I'm concerned. I put that in for informational purposes for this follow-up. One thing for sure, I haven't over-watered since then. I don't know why but I've been finding spots on the leaves that look, feel, and tastes like water. The plant is in an alcove designed to hold a fridge in the basement, and there is a dehumidifier with the humidity @ 50%.

I realize I'm asking a lot and gave a lot of information that may not apply at all but figured it best to add it and let someone that knows what they're doing decide whether it is of help or not. It comes down to I have no idea what to do, I do believe I have the possibility of having a nice crop, just as there is the chance of ruining it like I did the last one by misting it. I am growing this for medicinal and I really can't afford to blow it, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

And just out of curiosity, I've read that plants that have been crushed have a good chance of having a higher THC level. Any thoughts on there being any truth in this or if it's an old wives tale?

Id thin that out a bit before flipping. Bottom to top. There are so many leaves laying on leaves and shading leaves its really asking for problems imo. Selectively thin out only leaves, dont damage potential bud sites. Just nip off leaves to get some light into the middle of that bad boy. You can also make some final adjustments to branches while doing this too.

Thanks for the input, needless to say I had/have concerns about an out of control plant. I'll try trimming out about 25% of the leaves in the morning and post some more pics. If you wouldn't mind checking back tomorrow I'd appreciate some more of your thoughts.

This is awesome! It looks super cool but i'd thin it out a bit also. Just a little bit then veg a while longer and see what you got before you defoliate too much now.

I'm about to chop my white widow any day now and have been considering trying to reveg it. Im concerned that since I had a serious problem or two that it wont reveg. Mainly that there are no fan leaves left on plant. its mostly buds and sugar leave with the occasional bigger sized leaf.

You say you left a few buds, but how many large leafs were left on your plant when you started to reveg?

As I said earlier I cut mine off at about 6" and there were 3 buds that were less than 1/2" in diameter and there weren't any fan leaves and maybe 1 or 2 sugar leaves with each bud. I had read somewhere that it could be done, and I figured what the heck and tried it. It took 2-3 weeks but I got 3 branches. As it grew I used forceps to crush and bend the stems, and did so on a regular basis. As I did, new branches kept appearing which I took the forceps to and kept repeating. I should have paid closer attention, but the next thing I knew was I had this plant. I'd say go for it, my experience definitely shows it's worth a try.

If you're not having any problems with mold and mildew, then I would leave all those beautiful leaves. More leaves = more flowers. That's a fact that every botanical scientist will tell you. What kind of light are you using?

IMHO...I would hold off defoliating until after the 12/12 flip. She will do a lot of stretching, then I could more easily identify leaves that were unneeded and unnecessarily drawing energy from bud development.

I'm using a 2' T5, after I start filling the screen I'll supplement with CFL's. As for the leaves, I can see where they are blocking more stems from growing.

More leaves = more flowers is just not true sorry lol.
Yes it is.

If hacking plants up worked then why doesnt everyone hack their veggie gardens up?

Fact is, unless there is a problem with air flow or humidity then no reason to cut leaves.

Leaves don't block light, they absorb it.

Randomly picking leaves off without knowing what you are doing can harm more than help.

That plant isn't too thick.

Let it be.

Just so you know, its botany 101. Leaves drive plant production.

The most common misconception of bud growing. I have friends that strip every single leaf 3-4 weeks into flower and pull so much weight its mind boggling. But everyone has their own way and whatever works for you works for you.

On the stretching could you please offer me some insight on how far up I should be placing the screen? As I said the plant is only 6" tall and I haven't a clue as for how long I should let it stretch or the placement of that screen.

I have a low flat plant like that too, Id prob setup the net around 15"-20" its not going to need to be much higher imo for the support you need, unless you are going to veg a longer, then higher up.

Most Scrog nets are set 12 to 18 inches above the top of your growing container.

You should flip to flower when you plant has filled about 75% of the screen. You then fill in the rest of the screen during the first 2 to 3 weeks of the flowering period.

Here is a rough idea on some pruning. Follow the suggestions on " opening up the plant " for light and air flow ( when you flip ).

Try not to " pull " them or you will make stringers and possibly stress plant.
Also do little bit at a time so plant will tolerate what you are doing.

I USED YOUR PICS TO HELP LOCATE LEAVES THAT ARE BLOCKING LIGHT AND MOST LIKELY BE REMOVED.

( mileage will vary  )

Leaves create the energy the plant uses to form bud. More leaves will make for more buds. You'll never post any actual evidence to refute this.

How much space are you working with and are you familiar with how much stretch it's gonna have?

As to the leaf issue, I am going to open it up some as this plant is so dense the light isn't penetrating. Even though the plant is only 6" tall it is really dark underneath and the only light that gets to the bottom is what 'bleeds' in through the side. It also will allow the plant to breathe some, which is something else that confuses me. I'm getting droplets of water appearing on the leaves out of nowhere and the majority of it is where the the leaves are overlapping.

The area is 2'6" X 4' X 8'. As with so many other things in life, when it comes to the 'stretch' I'm clueless.
