I have two acres of garden and about an acre of fruit trees inside a fence. Wouldn't last a week without it.

Ok, so I fed my worms a bunch of old rotten pumpkins last fall and I saved a cup of seeds which the wind blew off my back deck and all over the fucking place. I had pumpkins volunteering everywhere and I destroyed all but this one that I missed. I have no idea as to what kind, just that the pumpkins came from a giant pumpkin farm nearby. I'm in. Gonna fire up the maxsea for this.

Just planted my Atlantic Giant and Big Max pumpkins the other day in 45 gal smart pots.

badasss man.. but I've done pumpkins before man, and they need LOTS of room, those 45 gals are gonna be rootbound quick.

yea but the smartpots sorta hinder that, unless you chop open the bottoms, or bury the lower 1/8th of the smartpot, I've done that once with a big-ole fattie cherry tomatoe plant, and that sucker actually broke through the smart pot, but granted that smartie had about 5 yrs of CA outdoor sunshine to weaken it though..

I've seen a tomato push a 1 inch thick root through a smart pot.
