If I top my plant can I use that as a clone?
Absolutely if you have enough stem to root from. Probably the best cut you can get tbh.
How do you plant to root the cut?Or I could take clone tops fro my stretched out younger ones, would that be better?
Raise the light and let it stretch for a few days before topping.how much is enough? Cause my plants real short but so tightly packed that its on its 10th node at only about 8-9 inches tall
That's how I take cuttings on everything, plain water. I have a willow tree that I cut a little new growth on to make a tea for stubborn plants.Ive always found top cuttings to root a little faster, not sure why but if you cut from the top strip off the bottom leaves from that cutting...so a cutting is about 6" and you'll remove the bottom 3" or so of leaves.
Also I only ever used an aerocloner which u can make if ur even a little handy,,,see youtube vids for some help with that. also in an aerocloner don't use rooting gels or powders...theey clog the manifold and the cutting makes its own hormone anyway...evefr see how some ppl will put a cutting of something into water? same thing.

X2 on raising the light.Raise the light and let it stretch for a few days before topping.

Sounds like you have a nice Indica heavy strain.
yet, I got some rooting powder and organic pro potting mix with some bacto ahit lol. But I don't have a plan yet other than I wanna be able to sustain a sog once I discover the femalesHow do you plant to root the cut?
I too love my bubblecloner, but with that you need a bit of stem vs. just sticking it in a rapid rooter plug or rockwool cube.
Dannyboy bout gave you the rundown with solid advice already though.
that's great but don't forget to aerate the water bc plants take in O2 from their roots. They'll grow better if you do.That's how I take cuttings on everything, plain water. I have a willow tree that I cut a little new growth on to make a tea for stubborn plants.
Bacto is a good base. Its inert though. Green houses use it for sprouting seedlings and for hanging pots.Idk

Stretch is not permanent. It slows back to it was when you lower the lights.I think its a combo of mostly indica properties and the fact that I've kept cfls within 1-2 inches from it its whole life. I dont wanna stretch it if not neccesary and I have five younger plants that are stretched pretty good as a result of bein further away from higher powered cfls.

Not for a cutting. It won't need an airstone until later.that's great but don't forget to aerate the water bc plants take in O2 from their roots. They'll grow better if you do.
