Cheers leshart.ill take anyones advice if it will advance my knowledge.
ive read through the whole thread now'youve done awesome matey'.
Its this l.s.t im bit worried about on my next crop,id love a full canopy of tops,i have done once before but never f.i.m as im weary of hurting the plants.
reading up on the airpots they seem to veg.quicker and have holes in to put paperclips in to tie them down.cheers for the info and good luck everyone.peace
air pots are crap imo
the problem is you can't give the hole root mass a good soak so some of the root mass will stay dry
this is because water will always find the quickest path out the pot and air pots have loads of holes
but with a drip system or dropping the air pots in a larger contain full of water you may get better results who knows lol
I just want to walk in my groom and pore 5 ltrs on each plant and walk out
about the lst, i have done it on countless plants mate, its a really good way to train the plants but keep it simple ( most growers go over the top and the results are not good )
the basic way to get the best results from lst
top the plants very young so the plants only have 4-6 shoots on each plant, as they grow you tie them to a length of bamboo to keep all the shoots the same height and evenly spaced out
often i use plant supports as it gives the plants extra support
here an example of my 2 plants in early flower making a large circle of tall shoots round a hps hood so i can drop the light closer to the tops of the canopy and the plants receive loads more light, most growers waste this light on there wall
10" half sphere under the 400w hps will burn the plants but just out side that, there's a sweet spot where my plants will love it so i need to make that shape
so i have two plants well trained in flower so there about 12 good size shoots making a circle round the sweet spot so i can lower the light to the best height and pull the maxim yield depending on how well i grow the plants
but with horizontal hood the sweet spot is more of a oblong shape because the light comes out the side of the bulb and not the ends of the bulb
so if i pull this off right my shoots should be 18-24" higher than the middle canopy and i will line the hood up so the lights just above the main shoots
