Arguments between a marijuana grower/seller and a buyer led to a fatal shooting. The killer will spend the next 21 years behind bars

"A dispute over marijuana has led to Gennaro Bruno’s murder of Martin Bosshart. Martin was walking near a side of a road in Queens, when Gennaro pulled up next to him and shot him twice in the back of his head. The bullet penetrated his skull and killed him instantly."

This article really doesn't say much. I'm willing to bet this man was shot over much more than some weed. Sad someone dies but I hate it when the news instantly targets weed as a culprit for any crime. Weed doesn't impair your judgement like alcohol or harder drugs so the media is hard pressed to find a case where cannabis is making someone go crazy like in reefer madness so they can all validate their fears that a plant might be evil.

Who knows. could be argument over weed, could be something more. I think its probably leaning more towards arguing over weed selling and money, rather than the use of weed being bad

probably a dealer unsuccessfully negotiating a price

Weed prices can vary greatly in NY....
$400 in Queens might go $600 in the financial district. I've seen the best top shelf here go for over 8 Ben's in the Wall Street area!

A dude I knew got shot and everyone thought it was because he was selling weed.

Nope. He was taken out by two low life thugs who thought because he had an O of loud that he was big time so they popped him for CASH but killed a man over $40 and a quarter of herb.

Weed, money, dealing...has nothing to do with it. These crimes are carried out by ignorance and stupidity. A little bit of education can go a long way, the only sad part is the people who laugh at you when you suggest such a thing.

wow. Did they get caught? what bunch of scums! They could have at least threatened with a gun and made him hand it over instead of killing him and ruining his families lives!

Yes they did. They didn't even bother to threaten him. They walked up on him in the park, shot him twice in the back, rifled his pockets and ran.

Pretty sad. People get shot even now just for their name brand shoes. Someones life is never worth a set dollar amount.
