Ok, the modified 22x22x Lift Kit tent is back up and running again.
This time I will be attempting my first true scog type grow.
Single plant (Samsara Green Love Potion) in a modified Hydrofarm Mega Garden turned NFTish spray line.
Plant had been vegging under a 100W Hydrofarm Sunburst Mini but now 4 Vero 18's (3500K) on Mechatronix heat sinks have been moved in.
Meanwell driver mounter outside the tent.

Cob's and Driver compliments of brother @Evil-Mobo :bigjoint:
Today marks first day of 12 hour lights out for this lady and this should be interesting :hump:

I'm trying to wrap my head around what you've done here exactly... looks super rad though!

How many watts? I have a lunch box Optic 120 with 2 Vero 18's at 60 watts which would do fine in that area alone. These smaller cobs do just fine but get little respect.

OK my friend, now I am confused...what happened to this from yesterday?

Thinking 4 of the 3500K had better get the job done or I might as well be using a 250hps instead
This is a sweet setup, and like way more than your usual 242 PPFD(!), but do you really expect it to replace a 250W HPS? Or were you kidding?

I love that faux-aero/nft thing you have going on. I did something similar with a deck planter and low pressure sprayers a few years back, worked really well.

I'm not into figuring out all the math and not sure I have the driver running in proper spec but she's pulling 141W from the wall with a Kill-a-watt

Whatchu talking about - this is what I said I was gonna do. 4 3500K vero 18 in a 22x22 space

Nice T5 smasher.

@Evil-Mobo is kind of an idiot for switching from vero 18 to t5. :dunce:
maybe he just knows something that you don't. a lot of people have successful grows using T5s. maybe you should try learning from successful growers instead of bashing them. I don't know if you realize it but all these insults make you sound like an immature, ignorant idiot.my leds collect dust while my T5HOs grow good medicine. maybe you could learn something from evil-mobo. he sound like an experienced and successful grower

Nice... can't really tell how hard your are running them, but it looks like 1A.
Great to see some setups for the smaller than 4x4 class of growers.
Only thing I'd change is giving them a frame of some kind for stability, but swinging in the breeze sounds good too.
Watching and waiting...

As @SupraSPL always said - "Armada Style" lol
That way I can move each module up and down separately if my canopy management sucks ;)
Plus, I want to see just what these can do before investing too much time and material into a permanent fixture

Yeah you are running 120W + driver losses, no math to really figure since you measured it. I just meant to say cobs are good, but not THAT good, so don't expect a 250W HPS replacement. You are probably 600-700 PPFD, nothing to sneeze at.

The driver is good for another 4 cobs, but it's happy to do what you are asking. Still high 80s efficiency.

I didn't switch from Vero's to T5's I was already running the T5's, learn what the situation is man all you do is ruin your mouth and insult people for no reason without knowing what's going on. I feel really sorry for you man because I couldn't imagine being so miserable in my life that I would have the need to get on the net and fuck with people.

It's looking good brother, I am curious to see how this goes........we need some real feedback here on the different light sources from more than just a handful of people so in my eyes the more data the better. Regardless of the technology.......... I am not a hater of LED's, it makes me laugh that others get so worked up over my decisions on lighting......

I will add, that the Meanwell driver get's so hot it made me nervous having it mounted straight to plywood. I ended up putting some shims under it to get some air flow behind it.
Can't imagine why anyone would mount drivers inside their tent or right on a fixture

That seems odd for running at half power. I put mine on the fixture for simplicity's sake, but it's also open on every side. It's warm but I could hold my hand there all day.

Either way, I'm with you. A cool driver is a happy driver. Shims are a good idea.

I feel sorry for you because you're wasting your time with T5 in flowering. You had tasties and you gave them up to continue using a ~25% efficient source just because you have a boner for RM3.

3 words for you... high, pressure, sodium...

Wood is insulating and won't be conducting much heat away from those drivers. I would mount them on aluminum in an open area or at least mount them in an area with decent air movement.

So this doesn't happen...
