I was in the same frame of mind i wanted to know what a mars hydro, would produce, lets face it we all you not going to get what you get from a hps light ,not even from a more expensive one,but i bought one to do a test run and i'm really happy with it to be honest its been great.I'm doing one plant under it and from past grow's there should be a tidy end result, the bud's are nice and compact.strain pineapple express ,tent grow 1.5 mtr x 1.5 mtr x 6 .This was going to be a one of thing but i'm going to invest in a other mars 300 and make a rail for them,i think it will be a double digit weight with two for sureftView attachment 3729651 View attachment 3729652 View attachment 3729653 View attachment 3729654 View attachment 3729655 View attachment 3729656 View attachment 3729657 View attachment 3729658 View attachment 3729659 View attachment 3729660
This room is silent ,two 6" oss fans in there too,I very nearly pulled it out other day and banged it under a 600 i know it would have thrown double digits weight wise with the plants frame ext,and bud structure, but it was defeating the object of the test,i just wanted to prove that you can get a nice bit of smoke that will not cost you a fortune,to run.Or buy .But i am going to put another one in for the next grow, just because i know it will do me,for bud to smoke. Its a room i can do strains that i would not normally do i grow for oil ,so its been great growing for smoke,i need oil,its the only stuff that sorts my wife and my pain away.If the jack herer, msnl i'm sexing turns out to be female thats going in next if its male then its super lemon haze.,It will throw a min of a 1/4 of a lb cured bud so well worth investing, the fan and the rest of the stuff that come with it filter yo yo's clips duct ext,was cheap has chip's I would say everything inc,the plant (seed) was around £150 inc tent full set up

SDS started with Noctua and moved to Phanteks. He used Meanwell HLP series too...
I tested Nocta, Artic and generic 120mm fans. NF-F12
was the least loud fan and the minimal sound it makes it is very smooth. The case temps differences were within 1C for all fans. NF-F12 industrialPPC was too loud.

Noctua industrial application included Photon Lamp at Computex 2016: Noctua

I have a grow cabinet around 50cm by 50cm by 150cm

Looking to kit it out.

So...
I know that there is a whole lot of cheap Chinese junk on the market when it comes to LED lights. My question is say if they advertise say a 800w LED light that supposedly has double chip LED lights (80x10w) however the actual power consumption is around 190w-230w. Does this not seem a bit too low? These are epistar / optotech LEDs.

Ebay / Amazon don't ship to my county so getting the tried and trusted American brands.

They priced at around $130 which would be my maximum budget. Don't think mh/hps is an option heat management.

Could I perhaps PM someone with the link so someone with a bit more LED know how advise?

Regards

Hi I Need a quality ( cree?) efficient, low wattage, near silent Led light to fill a 4x4 tent to replace my 600 watt hps. Phillips bulb.

It needs the ability to pull a pound easily like my 600 watt does in my shallow flood and drain tray with a few weeks veg.

Heat is a major problem for me, i need the light to be low watt and efficient to reduce heat.

It needs to be able to ship to New Zealand.

Tent 1.2 metres x 1.2 metres x 2 metres. Flood and drain = hydroton. SOG.

Do not want to DIY, want to buy a pre made unit or 2.

Thought about
Bloom onyx - fan too noisy
Northern Grow Lights Proton 180
Pacific lighting concepts but doesn't ship to nz
Inda Gro - heat???
Apache tech - too expensive
Amare technologies
Area 51 led
Hans led ( cant under-stand there website? but fan less is attractive, I need near silent)
http://opticgrowlights.com/led-grow-lights.html

I need the best bang for buck without losing efficiency

Proven lights only please.

Budget $1000 max ....can run multiple cheaper lights within budget.

whats your pick above and why, any new companies ive missed.

Thank you all. Love this Forum been following a while but never posted.

Well, out of all the lights you listed, the only ones that can yield a pound or be a 600 watt ++ equivalent are the Amare, Maybe the Inda-Grow & the Apache. All those other companies only make small lights that will give you around 1/2 pound, lil more or lil less. So you'd need to buy 2-3.
I highly recommend the Amare Tech.
Good luck!

Thanks everyone on this forum for your help, A member from this forum is from New Zealand and has offered to build me some lights.

This seems the most cost effective way for me as shipping to New Zealand is around $300 alone.

Really appreciate every ones help and info..

I really hope some of you can get your lights into the hydro stores here as kind led k3 L300 (rebrand apollo) are like over $2000 and the only other stuff is chinese rubbish for over $1000 that is if you can buy a LED light in your area at all, if you can you can only do it online.
The only sellers here are

http://ledgrowlight.co.nz/led-grow-lights.html

http://www.easygrow.co.nz/

http://www.ledgrowlights.co.nz/

Thats it, those are your choices in NZ

Its a massive un tapped market and there is no competition

isn't cutter in aussie, that shipping shouldn't be that bad to NZ. if I'm correct look in to growmou5 DIYT kits.

I looked at Cutter but wasn't wanting to DIY , A lot of people just want to buy something already made off the shelf locally that will do the intended job.

I hope someone taps into this NZ market, there are a lot of growers here.

contacting Hyalite http://www.hyalite.com.au/ would be a good start as they have stores in NZ now after expanding into the market from Australia.

Well, they are all very powerful, making even the smallere ones equal to a 600-1000 watt HPS In small area. They can also all be linked together.
The SE-450 is a total replacement for 600watt + HPS though.
The Pro-3 or Pro-4 would be great to. But I'd suggest 2.
