I'd be for that. Get these bottom rung officers out and hopefully more qualified people to patrol the streets. These police officers are gonna want more money if we keep shooting them.....or maybe we can start a draft for police officers?...

They already hire the most qualified officers they can find... Where are the more qualified ones going to come from?I'd be for that. Get these bottom rung officers out and hopefully more qualified people to patrol the streets.
Competitive pay could bring in more qualified officers. Just like any other work place. Of course there are limits to that. But starting at 25/28k a year doesn't tend to get the best people. They already hire the most qualified officers they can find... Where are the more qualified ones going to come from?
Wow, do you ever post anything that is correct? It's difficult to believe that one guy can be wrong all of the time. They already hire the most qualified officers they can find... Where are the more qualified ones going to come from?
i took it as.. if the pay was raised, maybe the minimum education and what not would be raised too.. i dont know though. but the only factor with that would be, most people who actually have a brain wont blindly follow dumbass orders our cops are told to followWow, do you ever post anything that is correct? It's been proven that smart people are not hired to be law enforcement. I would guess that the highest acceptable IQ is 110.
You could be hired then.
Police get paid quite a bit. At least in big cities, with overtime a close to entry level cop can easily be making 6 figures.i took it as.. if the pay was raised, maybe the minimum education and what not would be raised too.. i dont know though. but the only factor with that would be, most people who actually have a brain wont blindly follow dumbass orders our cops are told to follow
there aint no way a cop is making 6 figures a year lol.. i could be wrong but i highly highly doubt thatPolice get paid quite a bit. At least in big cities, with overtime a close to entry level cop can easily be making 6 figures.
In all seriousness I blame Obama. This violence is a direct result of him not being able to pull together the country that he has been elected responsible for. Is it that hard to get our people to respect our officers?
How many apologies has he given for the loss of american lives? Why not actually do something about it.
I know it hasn't been confirmed that black lives matter launched the attack, but how could you be surprised if that was in fact the case with all the recent uproar displayed by the movement?
We don't know who the shooter is yet.
So it turns out that all the smart people are too smart to be cops?Wow, do you ever post anything that is correct? It's difficult to believe that one guy can be wrong all of the time.

I don't think it's still that common for any non brass type to be making that kind of dough. I have seen news stories on the port authority police of ny/nj having some lower level cops making 6 figures because of overtime. But I haven't seen anything suggesting that's the norm. According to this site the only cops making base pay 6 figures are bomb cops.Sorry Man! Many big city cops get paid over 100K. Also the ones who are paid 60 - 80K draw so much overtime, and others ways to scam the system*, that their total pay is over 100K.
* not including the money they steal.
damn thats way too many of my tax dollars.Sorry Man! Many big city cops get paid over 100K. Also the ones who are paid 60 - 80K draw so much overtime, and others ways to scam the system*, that their total pay is over 100K.

Why in the world would I want to be a cop? Shit pay? Threat of assault and death constantly? People like you calling me pig and assuming the worst? Fuck that!!!Wow, do you ever post anything that is correct? It's difficult to believe that one guy can be wrong all of the time.

The thing about police pay, they usually start out pretty low right out of the academy. So say about 45-50k, however after about 6 years on the job, it moves up to near 6 figures. Also you start throwing in 1.5x 2x overtime it can be much higher alsoI don't think it's still that common for any non brass type to be making that kind of dough. After reading this article on the baton rouge police shooter, I find it hard to believe that Gavin Long wasn't influenced by black lives matter.
They do pay a lot more in the city something like $100k in NYC after 5 years and that was probably 10 years ago I seen that. But that good pay didn't stop them from choking Eric Garner out and watching him die when they could have simply done CPR and the man would be alive today.Competitive pay could bring in more qualified officers. Just like any other work place. Of course there are limits to that. But starting at 25/28k a year doesn't tend to get the best people.
