I transplanted at week 6 of veg. Chopped most of the roots as I was battling rot so they only had about 2 inches left. Vegged for another 2 weeks to try and get their roots established. After around 7 days they had rooted out their 5 gallon buckets. They're about 7 weeks into flower now and they look really good.

You can find some pics of my DWC setup, the root issues, how big they were when I transplanted and how they've flowered here: https://www.rollitup.org/t/new-loft-grow-room-input-appreciated.899067/page-8

Most of the advice I read at the time was to bin them and just start again... which I obviously didn't fancy doing! I hadn't seen anyone actually pull off a transplant out of DWC with root rot.
The cheese I have in the hydro grow now started off in soil was a few weeks old and being impatient i soaked the soil off the roots and plonked it in the dwc it took really well roots are starting to grow real quick too...your plants were in a bad way props to you for getting them back on track...

Idk if you are using beneficial bacteria, but if you add some "southern ag garden friendly fungicide" and some great white to your reservoir every few days, you will never get root rot, your reservoir can run at temps of 80+ degrees without any problems, and your plants will explode with growth

my temps are currently between 66 to 75 im using ice bottles to cool the water. i live in the uk and want to get the chemicals you mentioned..i noticed a lot quicker growth on my cheese before i got the temps down do the plants grow more if the water temps are closer to 80?
what is great white and it function? and the southern ag?

In my experience, plants grow faster in a warm dry environment. The warmth and lack of moisture in the aor cause the plants to take up more nutrients and water which will equate too a fadter growing plant. Southern ag garden friendly fungicide is super concentrated liquid that is 98.85% Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain D747, and great white is a powder that contians high doses of mycorrhizal fungi. You can either add them both to your reservoir straight from their containers, or you can conserve it by brewing a microbe tea. I personally brew the tea by getting a 4 gallon bucket, fill it half way with water, add 1/3 cup of molasses, 2tsp of both the great white and southern ag, throw in an airstone to keep the oxygen levels up and to help the bacterial breeding process, and then i wait 12 hrs before adding the whole brew into my reservoir

Hello!

I was getting about 4-5 oz per plant under a 400w hps (bagseed on the last attempt) a few years ago.

I'm currently on day 50 with five WW and a raspberry cough. I made a diy dwc/bubble set up for about 40 bucks. Got two 400w hps for flower. Picture of the canopy below (couple of the clones in the back got out of control and my ScrOG screen snapped in the back). I'd have more, but the girls are in bed

I have been growing a few years now and have recently got frustrated with the yields that are achievable growing in soil so have made the progression to hydro...i have a dwc bubbler set up and i took a dinafem deep cheese plant which has been growing about 3 weeks now.
my question is firstly any advice too a newbie hydro grower and what was the first yield you guys had on your first hydro grow any pics welcomeView attachment 3735015 View attachment 3735016 View attachment 3735017 ....all feedback appreciated.
Looks great man. I don't remember it's been a while since I did hydro. I did autos at that time too. I kinda feel you might be able to get bout a pound off that thing tho. Probably not but she's looking great anyway lol.

Hey Eugene, I forgot to mention that I exclusively grow hydro and have never had any issues outside of under feeding. I took several years off of growing, but if there is anything I can do to help please let me know. I'm just posting a few more pics of my girls since I said I would last night.

Unfortunately I didn't have the patience to completely fill up the screen, but not bad after a 7 year hiatus. Tape measure included for scale. Keep me posted on your dwc!

Your plants are looking real nice mate...not done the strain your doing but they look like they will yield nice for you good job mate nice grow...i harvested 2 mazar's one moby and a non performing auto ultimate a few days ago and got 5 oz dry which is ok as the bud is supremo quality. would have like a few more oz but its ok...only got half oz off the auto ultimate i had to dig her up from an outside grow Ewwstank to save her from the rain but she didn't transfer well...The dwc is a breeze to date im changing the res every 7 days making sure all the nutrients are bang on and cooling with frozen water bottles temps are 68 to 75...heres a question mate the canna aqua nutrients say to not re adjust ph after the first adjustment at the initial set up of the water...do you think this is recommended even though the water ph does rise over the 7 days?

pH will change just from CO2 dissolving into the water. As long as the pH isn't getting too high you should be just fine! Do you have a ph tester or anything (i can't remember if you mentioned it and I'm on my phone)? You can find them on Amazon for pretty cheap, and most have a dual function for conductivity. Changing the res as often as you do, I wouldn't think you'd have much of an issue, but listen to what the plants are telling you

Also thanks for the encouraging words regarding my plants! I actually started growing again because my mother is fighting breast cancer at the moment and the canna oil plus her treatments have her nearly in remission.

i use ph testing to do all the setting up and maintaining i wont alter the ph down then and ill keep on changing the res every week...the main reason i do it so regularly is that i dont have an ec meter or ppm meter yet and the guy at the hydro store said this is ok if you change the res every week so that's what ive been doing lol

People actually use ec and ppm meters lol?? Seriously i feel as tho they are a waste of money. Advanced nutrients 3 part is self ph adjusting, i never have to add ph up or down lol. And changing the res every week will end up costing a lot of money in nutes, with a good source of beneficial bacteria you could go 2 weeks plus

They are excellent if you start trying your own nute blends, and help verify correct dosages (depending on res size, some of my nutes can drop to less then a mL/gal). No need to hate on them. I've spent the last ten years in labs (six of which were as the regional manager), I have an array of auto pipettes and still use them to double check my work friend

i think cann aqua are self adjusting as well which is why they say to not bother after the first adjustment...im guessing this is the reason....im gonna get an ec ppm meter to keep an eye on stuff...you think i could run 2 weeks between changing? do you do this?

Yeah i change my reservior every 2 weeks. i add a little bit of nutes to the res after the first week tho, probably about 1/4 of the regular nutrient dosage
