Hello RIU growers, i came to join the pumpkin thread. Thanks @Larry {the} Gardener for inviting me over. My daughter picked out some jack be little pumpkin seeds that she couldn't go without so i bought them. We put 5 seeds to sprout and all 5 came up. One of them is a little weak, two are decent and the other two are explosive and want to be moved out of the damn container already lol. I'm trying to figure out a good spot to plant these in ground. I may just grab some larger pumpkin seeds and see if i can get a good one before the season ends. Any how, here are some pictures.
Here are the Pumpkin sprouts, the little sprouts in the black container are some lemon basil im Starting.
@Larry {the} Gardener , do you remember those sunflower sprouts my daughter had started? Here they are now.
Here are some morning glorys that popped up and started taking over. Ive harvested some seeds and plan to get more for next year. I want to try growing them up the pillars in front of the house and up the sunflowers maybe as well.
And i almost stepped on this little guy as i was outside taking these pictures.

Yesterday I blew off my weekly shopping trip and decided to do a fuck it day. I thought about putting the kayak on the river. I thought about taking the tractor and boxblade to do a little roadwork down at our creek camp. But then I remembered my pumpkins hadn't been side dressed yet. I used the rest of the "adult pepper" soil mix that had got rained on. Spread it out and covered it up, except for the area where this guy was enjoying a taste of dirt.

I drink. A lot. Mostly rum, but occasionally other things. I was whipping One of these up to kill the hangover feeling, thought i would share with you all. Its a pretty killer bloody mary.
- juice from half a lemon and lime
( can use a full lemon or full lime )
- 8oz tomato juice
- 3-5 drops Worcestershire sauce
- 3-5 drops A1 sauce
- 3/4 shot green olive brine
- hot sauce to taste
- salt and pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients in a shaker and shake the shit out of it. Pour over ice, salt the rim if youd like. Garnish with whatever you want. Don't forget the shot of vodka. Or you can use a shot of tequila, or a Mexican beer like corona as well. If you use a beer, be weary of salting the rim then having the beer touch the salt.

That looks good. But I would have to go without the shot. I gave up drinking 20 odd years ago. It was for health reasons, but I told folks {truthfully} that I had a bad truth telling problem was why I quit.
Back in my Navy days, my best friend on the Saipan was a rum drinker. He kept about 7-8 kinds of rum all the time. So I drank my share of rum back then. My roommate drank a case of beer a day too. It's a wonder I got out of there without crashing and burning. I wasn't much of a drinker, and stayed lit just being sociable.

I used to like bloody Mary's with a lot of Mary until I got drunk as fuck on spicy ones one night and hurled. It's the worst kind of drunk puke ever and I mean ever. That thick tomato juice coats the inside of your nostrils, sticks to your beard and hair and blew out all over your windshield, it makes driving the rest of the way home a bitch lol. The next day you stumble into the head and look at your face and wonder if some chick on the rag sat on your face, then puke some more. Yeah, true story. I can't drink V-8s or Vodka to this day.

ill drink anything except Bundaberg rum......that shit put me in hospital as a 16 yr old when I drank a bottle and then went for a ride on my bike only to black out and wake up in hospital its one of those drinks you have after a bad exp with that you cant even stomach the smell lol...crazy teenage shit I also puked on a friend in a sleeping bag that day

I have a question. I'm in zone 6b, I the state of New Mexico. I went to my normal seed shop and they said it would be worthless to plant giant pumpkins right now. Little bastard hardly knew how to answer the phone. I want your take, real gardeners and not half-bagged ass kids furthering their two cents to ten.

Pretty much sounds like my gin days. I had a high school birthday, age 15, before i dropped out of high school at 16 to join the US military at age 17. We started drinking at about 7am, before 1st period. I stayed back as it was my birthday, while my friends went to 1st period to gather people....
