Ok, personally I would still consider putting up a framed wall in your garage instead of a tent. The tent alone is almost $1400. I could build a room for less than $1,000 with insulation. You could put the extra money towards an AC unit. A tent isn't going to be fully sealed and it's harder to get a better environment in a tent because of heating and the gaps in which your light/ air will leak. I feel like if you have 10k to spend, don't get a tent. Unless you ABSOLUTELY have to get one, I wouldn't.

10k on a 10' x 10' grow...seems a bit excessive to me

I would get those things together myself and save some bucks/quids. Depending on your style of growing you may not need some of the equipment anyway.
Just start growing and buy equipment as and when you need it imo...
(F**k it's fun shopping for grow stuff (: )

I wouldn't even know where to start man. Any advice or anywhere you can refer me to to do a project like that?

I will no doubt. But I feel stupid asking all of these beginner questions lol
The only stupid question is the one unasked

Things can get a bit rough now and again here on RIU, but one thing is true; we all care about other peoples' grows, so ask away ! (:

Honestly, IMO, an important part of about growing is knowing your equipment. You can mimic everything that someone else does, but you might be lost as to why you are having issues in the room. Read as much as you can before diving in and understand the basics. Learn why a good environment is important. Learn why people use different lights because people tend to choose different things depending on their situation. For example, people in tents might tend to lean towards led's or HPS cool tubes to counter their heat problems. Where somebody with a closed room and AC might decide to go with an open hood with an HPS or a vertical style HPS bulb setup. What medium are you going to use? Soil, or hydro of some sort? Choosing a medium is going to decide how much work is put in and at what time. An example, if you decide to go with coco you will be watering everyday, sometimes twice a day or more depending on the stage of growth. If you go soil, there are ways to only use water instead of having to fiddle with amendments during watering. My point is there are many ways to skin a cat, and until you understand the basics you cannot know exactly what you need or what you are missing. I gave you some basic questions that I would start with trying to answer. Good luck, and like sworth said, we do care.

I will be doing soil to begin with and the plan was to do about 9 strawberry diesels under 4 1000w phytomax Blackdog LEDs. I was just guessing as well to have Temps around 75-80 degrees and the humidity at 50%. I was planning to veg them for a couple weeks to get them pretty big. Is my idea way off or?

How ever many plants is depending on how ever many you want to do. I personally think you might be wasting some space if you are only vegging for 3 weeks. You can probably fit 9 under 1-2 lights with a months veg. I change temperatures and humidity depending on what stage in growth I am in. In the young veg stage I keep humidity up to 75% / 80%, and in flower I usually sit around 55%/60%. These numbers change depending on strain, but I work around this area. Look into VPD (vapor pressure deficit). I believe strawberry diesel is a hybrid, but I have never grown it. There is a chance that they can get tall if it's sativa dominant, so be wary of your canopy height. Look into possibly doing a scrog net if height is a concern. What soil are you using and how will you be supplying amendments during the grow?

I was going to work them up to 10 gallon pots in fox farm ocean forest soils and use the fox farm trio nutes sense I really don't know shit and pray for the best lol

For 10 grand i would build my own sealed 10x10 room. Titan powered regulator, 20lb tank, dehu, 4-6 air cooled air tight hoods with DE's using outside air cooling and a very simple recirculating intake/exhaust lung box for flower.

That will work. Soil is definitely easier to grow in the coco or hydro IMO. If you are going up to 10 gallon pots, i'm assuming you would be vegging longer for 3 weeks. That sounds more like a 2 month or longer veg, which is fine. If you are still trying to do a 3 week veg, then you might rethink going with a smaller size pot like a 5 or 7 gallon. Environment is really what you need to be thinking of. How am I going to cool my lights. What is my humidity, and do I need a dehumidifier. The concept of air exchange vs. a sealed room. Tent is nice, but a sealed room is what a home grower dreams of using IMO. SPL, above, listed a few things that you should go check out as well if you are interested in a sealed room.

I think if you spend 10k on a tent no matter what the lights, if you have the space for a sealed room, you will be kicking yourself in the ass around half way through your first grow.
