Ona gel question.

Hey guys, my seed finally arrived. I got an auto assassin and I'm putting it into a fairly small pot so it doesn't get too big because of the smell.
So I was looking at ona gel and it says don't put it close to your plant or your plant will end up smelling like the ona gel.

I am growing in my room, I have a closet in my room and that's where I grow. Outside my room is another little room where I am going to put some air fresheners to make sure it smells ok out in that room.
So do you guys think it would be ok to put the ona gel in my room but make sure it's far away from the plant.

Ona gel sucks
It smells horrific too if you're sensitive to smells it will give you an instant headache

It's really not worth it unless you have proper ventilation to air out the smell

You should consider proper ventilation for your grow anyways
A couple of air fresheners and ona gel isn't going to help

I don't really have the option of any ventilation system. I'm growing inside a closet so I don't have a grow tent that I can have an exhaust system.
So my only option to control the smell are air fresheners and maybe I will get ona gel. It sucks I can't have a carbon scrubber and all that stuff but I will see if I can control the odor in a couple months when my baby starts to smell. Thank you for all your help.

Why can't you use a carbon scrubber mate? Buy the smallest one on amazon for a $100. Get a fan speed controller for $15 and you're good to go. It's cheap and a safe way not to get busted because trust me that one plant WILL stink.

I have a pant in its 3rd week of flower and there is so little smell you literally can't smell it.

Incense cover up more smell than that Ona shit even mopping with pinesole works better and smells better. But ventilation is the best I'll just mop and shit before I have company because I do have a faint smell but much more than a closet.

You won't want to live in a room with ona. It's so strong you won't be able to sleep. Get a fan and filter and don't worry about venting it will cycle the air in the closet and neutralize it.

There's a way to use ona gel that's perfect for larger areas. You take a 5 gallon bucket, put ventilation holes around it (use a 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch drill bit) in a 4 to 5 inch band about half way down it.

You then need some soil moist polymer. This stuff expands a great deal, so you'll not be using a ton of it.

It takes some trial and error, but you simply put about two cups of polymer in the bucket. Then you take about a half gallon of water and mix in about 1 tablespoon of ona gel. Mix that up and pour it into the bucket. Take a fan and aim it down into the bucket and you're done.

It'll smell like dry cleaning and knock out every odor you have. Again, it's hit and miss to get it down to where the smell isn't very strong, but it works well even without any ventilation.

Most people try to use ona gel by simply spreading it full strength all over the place. That's just an awful way to go about doing it. That's why it comes in such a very small container: it doesn't take much of it at all to work properly.

IIn really small areas I even know a guy that used it in a humidifier. He filled the humidifier up and mixed in just a very small amount of ona gell. (I would guess about 1/4 table spoon) As it humidified, it absorbed the odors.

I'm glad to hear that because I can't have it smelling in my house.

I'm only growing one plant and it's an auto flower so I will be ok prolly. Thanks again.

Well, look at it like this... What happens if it's not ok? Are you totally fucked, serious trouble, all your money, time and energy invested is gone, and you'll be kicked out? If that's the case, do you trust one random on a message board with no links to his grow posted over the 15 other people, most of them very experienced, telling you that YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED IT. Make that 16. Actually, I DGAF what you do, because if you're dumb enough to listen to that one person, you get what you deserve.
