Back in my day we had portable class rooms (AKA) trailers they had heat but no a.c.. hell ,The schools didn't have AC either. I don't remember it being that hot but we didn't know about global warming then. Maybe we hadn't yet become captive to the climate controlled environment we're accustomed to now.We call them portables. Over crowding of schools means they needed more space. Did it ever get hot. But spanish meant watching ghe girls play.
It gotbhotter
Yeah man I know whatcha mean,Back in my day we had portable class rooms (AKA) trailers they had heat but no a.c.. hell ,The schools didn't have AC either. we still have portables..Yeah man I know whatcha mean,
Nowadays there is prolly a law against putting kids in a steel container with no ac..lol especially in Florida or the south..
Yeah man I couldn't see it without ac my house is 70 and that's just how my lil one likes itwe still have portables..
even at pretty decent schools around austin
most have a wimdow unit
That's pretty messed up, I really think that's a horrible idea, I guess in this day and time the schools have better warning systems in place but still..? mind if I ask what part of NC you're in?Here in NC. we have trailers for class rooms . You only see them in the rural school districts though . You'd never see them in the affluent school districts.
the trailers are still kicking it, a small window unit ac (that probably doesn't work and hasn't been cleaned since it was put there), and perhaps a space heater each for the winter. i remember some being newly installed to help keep up with growing population. thirty years later, they're still making that budget go the extra mile...That's pretty messed up, I really think that's a horrible idea, I guess in this day and time the schools have better warning systems in place but still..? mind if I ask what part of NC you're in?

Good deal, better to be safe than sorry for sure! The weather was fine here after the first day, hell the sun was shining and our internet went down for three days. Called Time warner and they blamed it on the hurricane..I'm like, really?? I had surgery at Duke University hospital back in March, that's a pretty busy area! That's one fancy hospital right there, did you know they have a guy playing piano in the lobby? Seemed more like a hotel than a hospital, the place has a Starbucks and the cafeteria food was the best I've ever had..lolRaleigh,Durham, Chapel Hill area.
As a matter of fact the kids got sent home early last week because of Hermine
In this area they operate on the better safe than sorry method..... The hurricane really never impacted us negatively.

No "higher learning" for me lol to busy running the streets, I'm paying for it now.. Hind sight, I sure wish I did.. I could always pull a Rodney Dangerfield and go back now..lol 40year old freshman.. Ok 43..lolreally great school, some of my most respected peers went there.
i went to texas tech in lubbock, still had one of the top 10 rx programs in the country . idk how it rates these days, the dean is a family friend so that didnt hurt. also a pretty good school
where did you go?
In my younger days I lived 20 minutes from Duke My friends and I went to Dukes campus quite often As a matter of fact I've smoked weed numerous times on top of Duke Chapel it was one of the tallest if not the tallest structure in Durham for many years. Back then anyone had access to the campus.dukes the shit.

Yes, it's a pretty fancy place and yes I've seen the piano man I'm sorry to say I've had plenty of experience with that hospital in recent years and none of them ended well. To be honest if you go to a hospital in Durham nc it is affiliated with Duke hospital if not owned by them.Good deal, better to be safe than sorry for sure! Aw man, I hate to hear that. They took really good care of me, I did a lot of research before settling on the surgeon I had. She was highly recommended, had a great bedside manner and my recovery time was nominal.Yes, it's a pretty fancy place and yes I've seen the piano man I'm sorry to say I've had plenty of experience with that hospital in recent years and none of them ended well. Which I think is a bad thing. At one time there wasn't a better hospital in the area but that's not the case now at least that's been my experience. They have very little competition now .
