Any critical thinking member would dismiss the OPS claims after reading the first few posts. Not because it's apparent that he is wrong but simply because there's no real proof or scientific evidence to say he is correct.

The only thing that I can positively conclude is that the OP had better results from his soil grow.

Similarly I disagree with your blind leading the blind statement.
I will correct my Thread name. By no means did I mean that soil was superior to hydro. All I was saying was soil is best in my opinion. I enjoy growing in all mediums but soil is what i prefer. Did not mean to offend or mislead anyone into thinking I know what is best for everyone...

I've got two White Widows in Miracle Grow soil right now using Miracle Grow nutrients.

They're looking great, no problems.

My post wasn't anything bad against you. I only grow in soil myself because its easy for me and I get great results.

I know a guy that does hydro, and he's very, very good at it. He gets simply stunning results.

The issue though is that it cost about 100 times as much as what I do does. He'll spend more on nutrients in one grow than I will in 10. He'll spend more money on upkeep and cleaning and water than I will.

It's truly outrageous how much money he spends doing it. For me, that's the turnoff right there.

But he does get amazing results. Truly, he does.

I have coco pots, rockwool crouton pots, and ffof pots all n the same room. Differnt feeds, the 3part jungle juice is the cheapest.
Furture more, hydroton is reuseable and aero n dwc are mediumless. So after intial cost ur only supplying nutrients.

I don't see what's so expensive I pay 60$ for 4 liters of fert 2 for grow 2 for Bloom 50$ for 1 liter of microbes and 20 for food for the microbes that's a 130 for nutes and other shit and I've harvested 4 times and done over 50 plants

Soil is the original. Soil rules. People who talk about disease and bugs are clueless
Lulz go outside dig u up a bucket of soil and your gonna have bugs maybe a corn borer or two and a cut worm hear or there all shit I don't want in my garden and neither should you if you reuse a soilless mix the microbial Colonie as i call it builds if you nurture it along with your plant the sole difference between soil and soilless is soil has a nutrient value and soilless has as close to zero nutrient value as possible giving the gardener more control over his substrate environment

I always grow with mixture of industry soil and soil from my garden which i use for years to grow vegetables and fruits. Sure there are bugs there and all but my plants are really happy and healthy. Also what i love to use is to mix all sorts of dead tree branches, half rotten fruits etc. to cover soil in my garden and i have big barrel full of rain water and there are many tadpoles in that water.

Parts of this soil are very smelly but man you should try tomato from my garden its as if you drink water rather than eat it - very rich taste.

I might be wrong but i believe that nature has it all.

[edit] this also requires much more care and work because i don't ever want to see bug or some disgusting thingy over my plants.

My medium is a mixture of peat coco perlite and vermiculite all derived from nature and all my nutes and fert is derived from or created from things found in nature but my method of cultivation is scientifically considered hydro but my garden still looks like this1474364231251-157573812.jpg
