Edit: you were close to a screwless design. Something to shoot for..? ;)

Literally just completed.. 2ea 225 watt kits on a 30" x 24" frame in a 3 x 3, with a 24" AgroMax Pure UV bulb.

Dan I used the stickers.. you answered too many questions not to deserve a little advertising.

On a side note, zip ties are underrated. They are one of the greatest inventions known to man.

I love seeing innovations like this! great job man. If i tried something like this on a PrintRbot, it would be like a 16-20 hour print for all those pieces.

Thanks! It is a bit of work but if you are familiar with any type of CAD you can pretty much print anything you can come up with. There are some limitations of course but some apps that are available make it pretty much like tinker toys (tinkercad.com is a good freebee that it easy to start with for basic shapes) If you don't have a printer there are services and people that will print items for you.

I was kind of going for that initially but the extra time to make a tray for the power supply was going to be more then I felt like at the time. Technically the lights do not need to be screwed in right now, the connectors are really tight so just squeezing the rails together would work. If I develop it further I have a couple ideas for how I would attach them without the screws. Definitely a safety thing right now though, if it went upside down or one side dropped too far It would not be pretty.

Thanks! I have a Rostock Max v2 but I was running it at a reasonable speed. At 50% infill each piece was about 3.5 hours. I was printing 2 at a time so it was not too bad but still way way longer than drilling some holes.

Nice work! Makes me feel like my 300w kit in the 3x3 is a bit under sized
 
Just put in my order for 6 4 cob kits from timber.. these will go over 2 4 x 4 trays. I will put 4 cobs per bar (aluminum angle), 3 bars per tray, what distance should I have between them, 3 foot bar, cob on each end and spaced 12" apart for the other two?
 
Looks like I will have to build my own power cords, I will need approx 20' of cord for 240 volt. What gauge should I be using for that length, each cord will power 4 cobs at 1.4 amp? thanks!
 
according to this I can use as little as 16 gauge wire for 20' run with 4 cobs at 1.4 amp? This correct before I make a bunch of power cords. Does the meanwell driver require a heavier gauge than that?

Also can I use this plug at 240 volt? I know its a 120 volt outlet but would plug the cord that came with the meanwell into that, and make a cord from my helios 7 to this plug (240 volt).

I think I have a bad cob. I have 6 4 cob kits (24 cobs). I just received them today so I just pulled the first 4 out and hooked them up to see how they looked.. I don't get anything but a little bit lit up kinda out of the one. So I took another cob out and tried replacing each cob at a time and the once the one that kinda lit up was out and the new one in it works perfectly.. is that a bad cob?

You can kinda see how it lights up a little, the one on the right. after replacing the one on the right with another they all work.
