1000w Citizen CLU048 1212 Garden

Update on the 3590 garden and the Exotic Genetix Guice pheno run. The one girl with vigor seems to be the favorite so far. Usually plants with vigor don't have the smelliest terps, but this one seems to be the smelliest of the phenos. Like super lemon pound cake, really pleasant actually. I have one Exotics LBR45 girl thrown in the mix too, and I've got mixed feelings about it. It has some yellowing for some reason (nothing else in the garden does), it smelled like wonderful sour blueberries a few days ago, now it smells like crystal meth grandma's mouth. I'm glad this was a limited batch release, holy shit it is the worst smelling plant I have ever grown. So now I have a yellowing plant (with really good structure and resin production), that smells like the nightmare grandma scene from Bill and Ted.

So I'm hoping you guys can help me. I'm new to this led diy build and have some questions.
I was looking into cheaper leds bc well I can't afford full out set ups right now so I'm looking to do something smaller. Plus I'm only doing a 3x3 tent. And found citizen clu048 1818s. Then I found a few threads like this one talking about the fact that they work well for the price.
I found northerngrowlights.com that have the cob plus holder for $20. Which I thought is a steal. I wanted to do 4 of them on sst105 passive heatsink.
Now my question is it says it's fv is between 47.2- 52- 56.2. So if that's the case I want to make sure I can run 4 of them off the hgl-185h-c1050. Because the other one I could was running 3 clu048 on a hlg-80h-c350.
I'm not sure if I did the math right and I wanted to make sure before I ordered anything. This community is the shit and really helpful, knowledgeable, and informative. Thanks for everything.

The HLG 185h is a 200w driver so running 4 1818s @1050mA would make 213watts of power, so you would be over the available power. I think at that current the fv is 50.8 volts per cob so you would have 203.2volts which is also over the voltage on that driver.
You could run 3 cobs at that current on that driver. Or change to the c700 and run 4 at that lower current... Maybe there are better options though, That doesn't seem like a lot of light.
Have a look at the 1212 which are $13 ish, I don't think northerngrowlights do the 1212s but @CobKits does I believe.
Not saying one chip is better than the other but its good to have options. More of a lower voltage chip you could get away with a smaller heat sink or you could bump up to 6 of those 1818s on 2 drivers and have a really good PPFD in your 3x3

those are 1812s which are midwayish between the $12 1212 and the $24 1818
You could run 3 cobs at that current on that driver.
the constant voltage driver HLG-185h-48A would max 4 of those out to 220W
That doesn't seem like a lot of light.
it could be done with 4 1818s but youd need to run them harder than 50W ea, more like 75 ea x 4 for a 3x3. like 4 1818s and 2 hlg-120h-48a drivers

Is there a big difference between the 1818 and the 1812s? Also I missed that it recommends a hlg 240h c1050

according to citi calculator

Watts---1812 lumens/W---1818 lumens/W---% difference
50---151---155--3%
100---133---140--5%
150---120---129---7.5%
200---NA---121

so yeah depending on where you want to run it, at 50W the 3% efficiency difference may not be worth the extra $6, but maybe above 100W it is.

another way to look at it is what wattage can they be run at at a given lm/W

lm/w---1812wattage---1818wattage
150---52W---67W
140---78W---101W
130---109W---143W
120---150W---206W

@milliardo, your lights appear to be almost 2 feet away, but your buds are pretty big. Have you noticed any difference in bud size with distance? I like to keep my COBs 10 inches from canopy, mainly because of how they were spaced, any higher and the light would be wasted on the tent walls.

what's the different between Citizen CLU048 and CLU058?

Also, what fans are those? I need some better ones that I can hang

Eco plus and hurricane both make axial fans. They have them in 4.5", 6", 8"and 10" I use a 4.5" to vent a cabinet setup I have and I love it. Not overly quite. Light hum. But strong. They're only like $10 more for ~115 cfm

I also have a question about a potentiometer. Such as what size is required for what wattage or voltage. How do I match the size required. I saw @Growmau5 in his mau5capades use a 100k then in his yt he uses a 10k I believe and puts a 10k resister if I remember correctly. I was curious how to gauge the required ohms.

Should be in the spec sheet of your driver.

OP any updates? Ordering my CLU's in the next couple of days... I'll make a thread when I get stuff coming in.

If you're using the pot with one driver you use a 100k pot and a 10k resistor. If you're using 2 drivers on one pot you use a 50k ohm pot and a 5k resistor.
