Kratom experience.

No, not that kind of experience........more about that but first a cute little story:

My wife (Ploy) and I own a .8 acre vegetable and fruit farm in Thailand. We were clearing one area of mostly planted eucalyptus and some local volunteers from seed. She pointed out three young but valuable teak trees and a couple of other trees that should be saved. She pointed out one tree that she said gave her an itchy rash whenever she rubbed up against it and told me to get rid of them. I cut them down, saved the trunks for future projects, and dried and eventually burned the leaves.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago when I began hearing about the govt plan to list kratom as a schedule 1 drug. I'd heard of kratom in relation to big busts in Thailand but knew nothing about it and decided to do some research. Looking at pics of the plant the first ones seemed somewhat familiar, then pics of the full grown trees were a revelation. I suspect anyone reading this far knows what was revealed. I had chopped down a bunch of well developed kratom trees.

End of story.......Not! That kratom tree is a tough dude, within two weeks every stump had at least three fast growing suckers on it.

Now what I need to know is the exact process of harvesting the leaves, things like which leaves are best, do you crush the entire leaf or just use the veins? Basic stuff, anyone know the process?

I've only experimented with various internet sourced but typically quality leafs and powders. It's typically dried, I believe, as is (no tobacco style fermentation) and ground to course leaf or powder for distribution. I think ingenious people chew the leaf fresh but I'm not strongly familiar with that practice. It's the whole leaf that's consumed but often the vein color indicate quality or at least the experience (speedy vs sedative). Hope that helps. I'm no kratom aficionado but I do enjoy it sometimes in lieu of old school easily accessibly poppy pods.

Yeah they chew it like chewing tobacco. Chew on a wad and get slight stimulant effects. Probably nothing like tossing grams of powder.

Lol, apparently I misspelled that bit. I still think it fits though (in some contexts at least, haha).

It's honestly a chore to consume kratom. I usually make a sand like consistency paste with very little water, eat a large spoonful and wash. I long for the days of pods. I'm so tempted to try an indoor crop but I can hardly grow weed!

Yeah the first sip/taste was always the hardest. I found that 10 to 15 grams of kratom added to 16 to 20 oz of orange juice and allowed to sit(shaking it every 5 minutes for 20 to 30 minutes) for an hour(or more) was pretty tolerable. Of course shake it again before drinking it. And making sure no powder or chunks were stuck near the lid. It is a pita. Glad I won't be consuming that daily in some ways

Same as the ingenious indigenous people of South America chew coca leaves.
I'm travelling now but when I get home next Tuesday I will continue my research.

Look the same to me. A little more research is needed before I consume the stuff.

Any opinions?
