Well I've already ran a sterile res, actually started with sterile and while it worked to a point there were just to many unknowns for my liking. How much do I add, when do I add more, it always seemed like a crap shoot. With benies it's not a problem if you add more than needed and I do believe the root mass benefited but that is only personal observation. This thread was started to see if there are cheaper alternatives to hydroguard or better ones but really doubt I'll ever return to a sterile res even though I have a huge jug of H2O2 lol.I've always been under the impression that running a sterile res in hydro was best, but if you're looking to try a new product, maybe try Orca or something like that since it has 4 mycorrhizal species and 14 different beneficial bacteria strains and hydroguard has only one isolated strain (Bacillus Amyloliquefaciens) . I'm interested in seeing a side by side myself, of sterile res vs. organic! Or Hydroguard vs. a multi-strain beneficial, voodoo juice or something.
