Has anyone ever grown a hermie

Guys my main plant is a Hermie I have started five more to take its place but its already budding and about 6 weeks from being done. I want to keep it BC its the only thing I have in flower every day ibgo back and soak it with a mister and clip off any ball sacks. My questions and concerns are is it going to pollinate my other seedlings and if so when will it start. I made a diy tent out pvc pipe and some sheets of some kinda reflective material but all the plants are in the same room. What should I do just cut my losses and start over now, give it about two weeks to get bigger and use it for hash, or let it grow keep it wet and keep pulling off balls to get a decent but seedy crop

I am pretty sure its a female dominant and I've only found about 7-8 male preflowers and picked them all off. My main concern is at what age will my other plants start to be able to be pollinated by the Hermie I want to keep it until then and just harvest it preme and make hash or something

It can pollinate your girls as soon as flowers show. I have picked sacs off but I only had the one plant and wasn't worried much if I missed one. Luckily I got them all, harvested early and enjoyed an early harvest sativa.

Its the way of the noob to act like this

be the man and chop it out

its tough

but you are spinning ur wheels if you think you can stop this herming

plants rarely herm from birth, but is a cause from stress

reduce stress. light leaks etc and grow correctly

wash your grow down with hot water and bleach to kill any remaining pollen

good luck

Your plants in veg will not be effected. I breed in my rooms and don't ever have unwanted seed. after a pollen chuck I remove the male and spray everything down with peroxide in a spray bottle them turn fans on high and wait 2 weeks then put the next crew in and it will be 2 more weeks before they could acept pollen but it will all be gone by then.

It will be at least 14 days after the switch to 1212 that your new plants will be able to accept pollen ans by then you will have those plants finished and will have wiped everthing down. good luck. I've grown a few hermies but wouldn't make a habit of it... Pick them nanners off

All your going to get here is opinion.
Cut it or not cut it.

It's YOUR choice!
What I or anyone else would do is, is,,, OUR choice!

Your saying this thing has thrown balls.....Why am I wondering if it was really male "Balls"......??
Lets start with where they were on the plant. OR Got a pic of them?
NO? Describe as best you can where they were and what they looked like......
I kinda feel you may have been looking at calyx's that form at branching points - One on each side of the branch joint..kinda teardrop shapped, with the round end comming out of the plant..Sound right?
If so it may not be a bisexual plant...take a pic of that and post it...
Don't feel bad if it goes this way. It can be a rather common mistake for novice growers.

If I'm wrong and it's a herm. Big deal. I've been wrong before and will be again.

At any rate. If your desperate for weed. Grow the fucker out and remove the balls as best you can. Shouldn't be hard as I bet you look at it everyday.....right?
Any seeding it may get won't destroy the smoke......Hell, I've smoked some DAMN fine seeded weed!

Hell, the learning you'll get from growing this out is worth the price of castrating as (IF) needed!

For me, at this stage of my game. I would throw it out and ditch the strain, at least from that breeder!

If I were you, at your stage. I would follow the old farts post I just read and absorb the experience for the worth it brings..

If it does shed some pollen. Simply spray down all the surfaces expossed with a sanitization spray of 1 part bleach to 9 parts water.....That'll kill any pollen left around.

Good luck and let us (or me) know how it went hunh?

Pictures always help.

I am rooting for all girl. Rereading your original post at 2 weeks flower that's catching me up. it's more common for a plant to throw nanners further along in flower then for them to start out as hermies. it would be very obvious this early, you would have full balls rather than just a nanner. and they would be kinda dangly

Here is all the older pics but some show just male and not even a Hermie but one thing I can promise it has plenty female parts but here is every one of the old pics since I been worried about what it was. Also if the last to pics look like something bad happened its BC something did my fan fell and cut up about a fourth my girl so I went ahead and experimented with defoliation and shaved the plant like it was going to basic training lol oorah

How long are you planning on foliar feeding, I never spray the bud's after about 5th week of flower.

Maybe someone else can commit on when they stop spraying.

I flower for 9/10 weeks.

Not saying what you should do, just curious.

Yeah, good time to stop.

I don't foliar unless I want to correct a shortage of something fast!
