When you do a lot of topping per plant make sure you have the room for them to grow, They will need to be spread out quite a bit as to allow even light coverage.

You should probably get a better light. I don't think 150w is going to cut it for one plant in flower, let alone two. If there is one thing you shouldn't skimp on, it's your light. That's going to determine not only the size and growth rate of your plant, but also how much bud you harvest at the end.Hey guys, I am starting a new grow this week. My past first grow only lasted about 2 months until I had to take it down just before the switch to flower for safety reasons. I guess this will be my official second grow.
I will use this thread as a log and update with photos and info. weekly. Also, I will most likely have questions so feel free to help out!
Setup
Grow room:
- 19x27x62
- PVC frame
- Sealed with panda film
- 100mm PC fan exhaust at the top
- Air intake holes at the bottom
- 2 small clip on fans for circulation
**I originally designed the PVC frame to fit a closet. I am now considering adding on to make it either (2'x2'x62) or (2'x4'x62). I might go overboard and just do a 4'x4' setup but that might get a bit pricey
Equipment:
- 150w LED
- 2 gallon smart pot
- Hefty aluminum tray for runoff
- Kindsoil (subcool's all organic mix)
- BlackGold potting soil for a base
- Large heating pad to keep under the pots
Plan
I started germinating 4 seeds yesterday.
(2) AK48 females from Nirvana
(2) Randoms from Nirvana
My goal is to grow these (2) AK48 plants to the best that I can. I am looking to get the most out of these plants in about 3 months time (time is not a huge constraint for me). I plan on topping twice early on to start a 4-way LST on each of them. After a month or so, I will install a full SCROG and use this as the plants stretch through the flower phase. I am hoping to get many bud sites and keep an even canopy all around. All in all my goal is to get a decent yield (possibly a few O's?) of some quality organic bud.
I will use the grow room for the AK48 plants. If the random seeds are female and look promising, I would consider extending my grow room to accommodate the other one or two randoms.
As I said before, please feel free to chime in whenever if you have any advice or thoughts you would like to share. I am by no means an expert and am excited to learn new things throughout the grow.
Here are some pics of the grow room and equipment I will be using.
I still need to install the fans and finish some things up in the room.
The plant in the room is actually a friends that was used only as a reference to size.
Also, this is more subjective nitpicking, but I don't think you can call that first run a first grow if you didn't even flower it. Not trying to be a dick, just giving a perspective.

I have over 50 tops for this mainlined Lemon Garlic OG. I'm actually a little worried I might have gone a bit overboard for my closet. We'll see how it goes, though.

I currently have 5 plants in a 4x4, that was not the plan but that is what is in there, After topping a few times and FIM, the tent is already full in "area" and only 1 1/2 week into flowering....Lesson learned....lol

Pretty sure most of my top jobs were FIM'd. Every branch has 2-4 extra tops that grew out of nowhere from various nodal sites a few days after its corresponding topping.

I didn't expect the number of tops I ended up with. I am having to super crop and LST allot to keep up with proper light distribution and grow room. I ran out of room so they will be cramped through harvest.

39 days from seed germ. I wanted to keep this grow short and stout so I could manage them better as they spread. Next grow I will do 3-4 plants and veg 1-2 weeks longer.

Great, thanks for the reply! I'll make sure to top her a bunch. I thought their was a point when topping too much will create a bunch of smaller less dense popcorn nugs? How many times can I top and still yield large dense nugs?
I will definitely veg. longer. Any idea how long I should plan to veg. her for? Also, when is a good point to install the Scrog and start filling it in?

Sounds like some good stuff. I have a few seeds to go through. I only do 2 plants at a time in my closet (I have another grow elsewhere which I work on with a family member.) I want to get a hold of a pack of Oldtimer's Haze from ACE and pheno hunt for that purple one to self as well as take fem'd pollen from. Here's my current seed collection:
