It's been a weird couple of days. Normally I would think this was just Jibber but others may need to know too, so..

I hit my first deer on the way home. I got out and it was dead. My dog was in the back seat so I couldn;t really put it in my car. The road is just a two laner, it was dark, steep, and winding so I couldn;t ponder long. I made the quick decision to pull it behind my car and stand it up in the lane. I balance pretty well. I hope the next person to come around corner knew the correct response. What should I have done? 420?
country rules
u keep a 5 inch blade in the trunk and some bungee cords /rope

u find the deer if it is alive u put it down then u gut it using the rope ditch the inners and take the body to the butcher tell him keep anything good the rest of it turn into dog food

pay the 50 bucks for the butcher .....take the meat and eat it or take to homeless shelter and give to them for a 200 buck right off on your taxes

for legal shit u should of gotten out and turned on your cell phone to video record ....go area the area get all that on tape go around the car get that all on video and then show the deer .......u have gps the area time and date stamped it on the video (turn that into the insurance ppl your calim goes pretty fast)

IL Driver I assume.
I always keep a knife on me. Always. When I hit a deer (happens about once a year), you get out, dispatch if necessary, and cut out tender loins if good. Drive away.
I haven't hunted (legally) for 30 years.

It was a joke, not a very good one. I pick up deer for a living.
You'd get rich around here. The parklands are so full of them so that they have organized hunts to cull them out.
I read once that deer didn't use to live in the woods. They preferred open fields as the grazing is better. Then the Mayflower docked and the deer headed for the woods.

Assuming you itemize you might save 20 to 56 bucks.
nope
u can get the value of the meat plus the cost of butchering it
most homeless shelters and food banks will give u top price on the items for tax deductions (it is how they get ppl to do it)

done right with a low deductible it can literally pay for the repairs once tax time comes for that year

plus it is good karma .......u did not leave a animal suffering ....u used the meat after the kill....u gave it to a place that really had a need for it
