i could afford a better light, I just don't have a way to ventilate heat, besides a small fan in the Grow space. Anything better than a T5 would be too hot.Sure.. Its enough, but ya could do better..but if you are broke and that's the only option ..you could rip out a few zips a harvest under that.
2 ft bulbs are 2000 lumensDo you guys think a T5 lamp is enough light to veg and flower with? I have a T5 and I'd like to get some opinions.
Specs are:
•4' in length
•4 tube fixture
•4 bulbs are 64k 54w x 4 = 216w total (for veg)
•4 bulbs are 32k 54w x 4 = 216w total (for flower)
Is this enough?
LED or COB will be less then T5i could afford a better light, I just don't have a way to ventilate heat, besides a small fan in the Grow space. Anything better than a T5 would be too hot.
I'm not looking to make huge buds, just a descent size that I can smoke on2 ft bulbs are 2000 lumens
4 ft bulbs are 5000 lumens
the minal the plant needs is about 5k ......but to really pack on the weight making the plant turn a profit vs taxes and overhead cost u need 50k lumen
just know 5t lights are about 18 20 inches of useable light accounting for the 4-6 inch space betten light and top of plant .......i take of the lower 2 branches and any site that is outside 16 inch otherwise just to fluffy
then buy a apollo LED 300w and grow auto flower plants in a 5 gallon planterI'm not looking to make huge buds, just a descent size that I can smoke on
Sounds like a good option. Could I buy 3 or 4 cfl bulbs and place them around to make up for the low light coverage?then buy a apollo LED 300w and grow auto flower plants in a 5 gallon planter
cheapest simplest way
u turn the timer on for 20/4 and water/feed the plant every 2 days for about 70 days then u have smoke .......u can start one plant wait 30 days start a 2nd one keep a rotation going (as they are autos they like both light specturms and u can keep the light on 20/4 whole way .......30 days of 20/4 equals 50 days of 12/12 timing )
the 300w led will do u good for a 3x3 area .........as for CFLs skip them they are useable for 12 inches and the heat they make just keeps increasing as u add more lights to cover the area as the plant moves upSounds like a good option. So you're saying a T5 Isn't enough to produce buds? Keep in mind, yield isn't really what I'm afteryou absolutely need exhaust and venting if you want any bud. the t5 will not do shit, hairs and pistils. you need hps and correct venting, the correct LED setup is another option, more pricey though, hps still best bang for buck
If you want to flower big plants with couple of t5, you will end up with some pistils no real buds. if what you are after is flowering under t5, then yes, you can beef up the light get more and more and flower, but that is not very efficient. curious though, if yield doesn't matter, what does?So you're saying a T5 Isn't enough to produce buds? I'm only going for one plant, and it's more for practice instead of yield. If you want to flower big plants with couple of t5, you will end up with some pistils no real buds. if what you are after is flowering under t5, then yes, you can beef up the light get more and more and flower, but that is not very efficient. curious though, if yield doesn't matter, what does?
What about LST? the plants that I've seen are wider with most of the bud sites near the top. Also, ventilation is an issue. All I have for ventilation is a small fan. The heat would probably be too hard on a plant.for practice as well, hps. problem with t5 light is spread and not intense enough so you will need many lights offsetting the cost making it better and easier to get hps
Thanks manhttps://www.rollitup.org/f/cfl-fluorescent-lighting.75/
That's a whole forum on T5 and CFL lighting, Lotta guys doing fine with them.
I'll just use my T5 for veg and get a 400w or 600w hps to flower. Would that be enough? I'll look for some easy ventilation setups.T5 flowers and no ventilation, good luck with that, it will take you 6 months + to reach the conclusion that I am telling you, i am done
