There's nothing hypothetical about how the man who united Conservatives federally is regarded by both big and little c's. As Carpe said, you should consider how most other people vote, not just how you vote.
Bernier has always been for legalization (specifically withholding a definite vote for or against the LPC's 'legalization', depending on how it was implemented) as long as he's been in the leadership race, so you should probably do some reading before pronouncing what the CPC's platform is in totality.
The hypothetical was whether the CONs ever regain power, not on some delusional man-crush with little Stevie. He did not 'unite the Conservatives, he just put the final nails in the once respected Progressive Conservatives. Considering the Trudeau Liberals won a majority in his first election, something it took Harper 3 to accomplish, I say
I am considering how others vote.
Bernier was
so in favour of legalization that he withheld his vote instead of standing up for what he believed and what his constituents expect from an MP. Hardly a friend of legalization proponents...just a politician who can lie with a straight face. I don't like any politicians, but in my view the LPC is the lesser of the evils.
I'm not looking to get into political fights, clearly we see things differently, but you are no more going to change my mind than I am yours. I used to vote for the Consevatives...my parents vote CON, so I just followed. Then I grew up.I read and questioned and voted for the party I felt best about at any given election. Stephen Harper and his arrogant style of government has guaranteed I will never vote CON again. If the LPC fucks up, I'll vote Green.
As for your advice that I do some reading, pretty condescending don't you think? That fact that you don't agree with what I write doesn't make me wrong or any less 'read' than you. I would really like to read about Trudeau's decisions on legalization that you mentioned, though, but I can't find anything recent.
