Northern grow lights had some cases for sale from their cob lights idk how well a QB would fit them. You could probably call dorm grow or another crappy led company an get them to sell you some cases I bet light sales have gone down substantially for them haha
Yeah I looked at them, but hoping for something big and cheap.
Ugly is ok as I could repaint

If they got those cases down to like 40 or 50 with no heatsink it would be pretty cost effective you could get a 90w light thats dimmable an looks nice for under 200 that should grow enough personal for 1 person

They have some nice electronics in thee or they price they are asking like dimming and thermal protection I believe

I ordered a HLG-80H-700A LED Driver to change out the driver im currently using . I ordered this panel BEFORE i found out about " KIT " which is sold out ... God damn it.
:wall:

I was planning to throw a timbergrowlight 3x3 FRAMEWORK in here but may rethink that and look into a 4 panel setup using QBs. @robincnn ( 3500k on the radar ????? )
What a beauty. Great job. The old Mars Hydro you scrapped put out very little heat versus HPS/MH 1000 watt rigs. I realize the Mars was less powerful but they and other burples put out almost no heat.

How is this new rig on heat? Thanks.

Running at 72-73° which is insane ... I believe the cases dual fan setup just adds to lower temps .... Funny how these QBs have such a short fin size and stays this cool. That Mars would had a little larger heatsink but that unit would warm up much more than this.

My Mars 600 ran a lot warmer with active cooling than the two QB with passive. Not to mention the QB setup is silent. I did move my driver out of my grow tent on purpose though. This summer when it's very hot I won't have to battle the temps as much. That's something I always did with my old HID setups years ago.

Thats because they way under drive the chips to get that 22% efficiency......... I think them Mars "600" watt light draws about 265 watts..and 78% of that IS heat.

Actually I'm going to give that light away. Of the cheap lights I've had, this one served me well and a cheap light was better than no light!

I like the look and adjustability of hanging 2, individual boards in that tent just as they are. Seeing what looks like two tablets lighting up a tent blazingly is just got to be awesome lol!
