DIY with Quantum Boards

2 boards on the sheet
& I just want a driver that will max the wattage to each board to be the 150 watts that they are rated at .
would i rather series or parallel ?
either/or just want the best working driver that will do 2 boards
If I need it at 150 watts then I have it , if not i'll dim to my needs (for the added cost of the bigger driver i then don't limit the uses for the light)
my kit QB runs at full bore (90 watts iirc) & does got hot at the touch BUT place a small fan (3") a foot away on low & it's cold to the touch

This thread has been fun to follow. We started using quantum boards along with our COB setups for our pepper production and have had great results. We're in the process of phasing out our 315 CMH setups and haven't noticed any ill effects of the QB or COB setups.

We had custom enclosures made for single board setups. Singles allow us to move the lights around or use them for supplemental lighting. Each case supports (2) 120mm low speed fans to keep things cool. We have double board enclosures being made now so we'll see how they do once they come in.

Thanks! Our supplier did a great job on them. We threw the design together pretty quick and may make some changes for future orders, but I like them so far.

I'll get some finished pics up soon. I made changes to the heatsink so I'm waiting on them to get here Monday before putting this next set together.

Thanks again!

360W..just crazy glued on to test ergonomics of wiring,...par watts and temp

with no air movement or heat sink and the driver attached IMG_0826.JPG to the back of the strip the driver is around 38c and the chip side is from 35-45c
with the led being as high as 65c..dunno if thats too hot but fan on it should cool it some..thats what the test is for
supposed to be 176 lm/w..i think 4k cct..gotta get the wire and wagos going..much to think about..but fun

Are those the Bridgelux ones?
Or Samsung ones.

Anyway, both are rated for a maximum case temp of 85 degrees celcius.

@robin got my boards Sat morning , pretty cool Prime Shipping You Da Best !
ThanX Big Time for the extra screws , nothing like running outta screws on a large build that is near the end of mass assy
them damn fine thread m3 screws are a bitch to source local & when I did find them they were .25 cents each & they had 11
on the board front ordered a driver a 320 2800 , stripped the mars out for parts
I have enuuff sinks to handle 2 28 x 12 " light assy & one 12 x 20 on 1/4" AL plate (2 boards for this one but smaller driver ) gonna get another 1/4" plate local , the one on hand is 28 x 11 " so a slight over hang on the sinks 1/4"
the plates will be covered 100% by the Mars sinks (which BTW is the best thing in the Mars is the fucking sink )
the have a large fin count maybe 3/4" tall
& are textured on the inner fin surfaces ( i see this type of sink in solar rectifiers ) my solar panels have them in the set-down boxes , adds more surface area to the fin .
some of my newer Mars had heat stress (IG has a burnt diode pix ) on the pcb
one 900's had a large brown heat stress area & when opened that area had no TM ( big bubble)
I'll get the driver Monday & should have it running in a hour

Day 33 - Blue Dream

50watt panel - Quantum

So far this little panel has been amazing . I do have more plants in tent with this main one and all are growing well. The GG4 is beginning to stack up and will highlight that one in a few days.

I began working on two NEW separate builds , one centering around THIS panel which will be modified ....

I expect the last of my parts tomorrow and will highlight those builds in a few days.

Crazy good. This one panel looks like it could just about beat a 400 HPS. :cuss:
