I had a tooth ripped out the other day.
My mouth hurts so bad and now I am craving steak :(
There seems to be a bunch of fellow Londoners here

Lol no cold fusion is what I call it. I'm sure someone else already named it something. I learned in school when I was younger about fats and solubility and a little bit about plants too. So what I do is take decarboxylated bud, grind it to a powder, and put it in a jar with cooking oil and let it sit for about a week agitating once a day. The active ingredients leach into the oil and since the bud is powder there is no icky pieces of bud floating around. After a week I used that oil to make brownies. Again, apparently they are beyond amazing.... but I didn't get off on them.

if it is butter for cooking .,,make it warm.,,,that way it will take up all the Cannabinoids
no reason to do it cold???

Be it butter or oil you don't actually need heat.. it can be explained with math but to simplify; little heat (room temp) and a long time = potent product. Same with high heat and short time. However, I find that heating the oil or butter creates a substantial amount of smell which to me means your losing terpenes and possibly Cannabinoids. With my technique I preserve all the goodies in the bud and it goes right into the oil. I do use decarboxylated bud so that might make a difference too.

all BONE DRY bud is decarbed... heat only speeds up the process.Once done..its done.
dont heat it above 100 degrees and everything wil be fine with the smell ;)

Heating the butter to a melting point wont hurt anything and it will still take up to an hour or so to remove ,,,its not a solvent after all but is oil soluble of course.

I've tried different methods for making butter, but never cold. Might try it for shits and giggles.
I use the slow cooker method with good results and very little mess.

I have not tried with butter only vegetable oil. I just used a recipe that calls for oil and substituted the regular oil for my cold fusion oil :-)
Just make sure when you let the oil sit it's in a dark cabinet or something.. something to do with the light breaking something down.
