i love Edmonton. i grew up in MillwoodsTo be from...lol
Ahhh... was born and raised here. Moved away a couple times, but came back... so it cant be that bad... lol
The biggest problem with Edm is just that it is so far away from everywhere else. Although...that does have its blessings too...lol
I partied hard there!i love Edmonton. i grew up in Millwoods
i left when all the music rooms closed down and it became "Dead-monton"
you may have poured my friends and I at the Rex/Metro. i LOVED that bar!!
my favourite was the Killer Dwarves. not my favourite band but what a show!I partied hard there!
Best night there was watching Kim Mitchell play... that first solo album...Kids in Action?
i just remembered when it closed and you paid an "all you can drink" fee. i felt bad for the waitresses. they couldn't get drinks to some folks because the people who were close to the bar just took the drinks off their trays.I partied hard there!

People's was my favourite... it was close to me, but it also seemed to be a better sounding room for some reason. Saw I Mother Earth play there just before it closed...my favourite was the Killer Dwarves. not my favourite band but what a show!
i saw the London Quireboys there on their first North American tour.
so many great cover bands as well!!
same with the CI South...and People's on Whyte Ave. too bad they shut them down
Did you ever see a Heart tribute band there called "Barracuda"?my favourite was the Killer Dwarves. not my favourite band but what a show!

That was a buddy of mine's band. One night the original guitar player for Heart stopped in to see them (he was in town for a wedding) and got on stage for 3 songs. That was a wild night...
I saw Kim Mitchell in Guelph,Ont in the mid-eighties...Patio Lanterns tour if I remember correctly. Maybe 200 people in the hockey arena...smoked a LOT of hash that night....I partied hard there!

there were a bunch of really good tribute bands then too. i remember a Rush tribute and the singer/keyboard player sounded great!
i wish Nick Danger did a Meat Loaf tribute. Ted did such a great Meat. he sings for Doug and the Slugs these days
I think that was when he was still Max Webster, which is one of my all time favourite bands, along with Rush. If i could count all the hash i smoked listening to Webster/Rush albums and live it would be in the pounds....hahahahahI saw Kim Mitchell in Guelph,Ont in the mid-eighties...Patio Lanterns tour if I remember correctly. So... do you crank his tunes when mowing the lawn and shit? I would... lolMax lives just down the road from me.
Oh ya... now i recall that was likely his second solo album. No, he was solo. I lived in Guelph from 83-86...I'm guessing the concert was 85. I was a big Max Webster fan too.
its nothing to say hello. you may not recognize him though with no hair.So... do you crank his tunes when mowing the lawn and shit? I would... lol
Just to get his attention...on the slim chance that might somehow turn into him jammin in the back yard one day...lol
