Politics is just tough, and I can only think its not just a societal thing. Or a cultural thing. Its a human thing. Every country and way of life has their own version of politics. What I just find astounding though, is most people would say that they dont agree with parents/spouse/etc on everything. Yet, when we discuss politics, generally people are just assumed to believe/support all or none of a particular person. That isnt even logical. Yet we all overlook it. Crazy right?
I believe if we just realized that and took that into consideration when a political topic comes up, we would have much more meaningful and beneficial discussions. More civil too? And people wouldnt dis-invite family over for holidays because of who they voted for (happened to someone I know! unreal. sad). I dont want everyone to agree. As much as I disagree with many policies on the left, and I do plenty on the right also, their existence is vital to the success of the country. I want to hear thoughts and theories, potential solutions from opposing minds. It makes me better
Hold on a second, I'm making another account so I can respond.
