to harvest or not to harvest?

Aw, come on here chemmy! Lower buds do not need "direct penetrating light" to develop!
Did you know that it's proven fact that lower buds tend to develop higher THC concentrations then the mains!
Here's the bottom of a Gg4. 52 inch's tall in the pick. Under a 600w !

so what? some keep the popcorn some dont. here why I dont.

penetration, bud sizing, air flow, I tend to make a mess near the dirt while watering, soiling the little buds,

speaking of little buds, some of those dry up to very fine nuggets for sure, but I wont share those with patients, they want full sized buds, and I have so many full size varieties of new fresh bud all the time, I dont want the fuss of trimming them, saving them, or the guilt of discarding them. I like the look of lolli popped girls in the room, with bonzai multi cola tops, just me maybe.

i've thought about supplying patients, how does a person go about this? do they buy from you or is it like a designated grower sort of deal

depends on state you're in. you'd be best to google the rules in that state. some states only allow a grower to grow numbered plants for a small number of patients, while others allow larger grows and more or less patients. read rules, apply to state. be compassionate, theres little money to be made

I've got some flowering close to the main stalk, if you look at the bud that beahind it, there is more right there of course, wish i had a better picture, but the budding is also down from that point, and more further down. Sorry wish i had a better pic. Also sorry for the thread owner, not trying to hijack your thread, just wanted to get more experience eyes on it.View attachment 3909816
Looks like you've been given them a high protein diet lol.

Popcorn - LOL. To bad I didn't have something down there for size comparison. They're not huge by any standard, but not popcorn when they were done either.

Take a cpl page look at this chemmy

Click the link in his first post too.

Making statements like you did about lighting and penetration. Was as wrong as you are about that subject......

Maybe if you show your patients how good the lower parts can be.....You'll begin to contribute to the fact that while the mains have bag appeal....The lower part of the plant is better in several way - including being more potent.....UB used to preach this. At least you would move further along in debunking Myths.

If I do get a plant with larfy looking lowers - I make COB's out of them......search COB curing.....

fact is they are not interested in any but the fine colas, prolly because its the way I introduced them. I dont grow those bottoms
for several reason right^^ I dont have dexterity, time or patients to fuss with trimming these buds, looking for dirt chunks washing them better, if needed I've applied oil to my dirt surface with a spray nozzle for instance, now I have no worries of overspray and such.

it hurts to discard them I know, so not allowing them to grow was an easy habit for me to adapt. I didnt invent it of course, but it fits well with my styles. I love the ease in care of a four/6 cola gal all proud and tall, easy peasy trim, easy care and support, maximum light exposure, increased air flow and visibility in the substrate areas, maximum results for me. Some people save their sugar leaves I know, you guessed it, I throw them to my bunnies. I've got plenty of superior buds and their droppings to do whatever I need to do, without the extra fuss and weight sitting around.

I liken it to a scrog grower, maximizing their light exposure, lolli popping their lower shrubbery, and growing colas only. same deal here really, without the netting and fuss training/long veg. sometimes I need some sticks and rope to support others not so much.
when lazy I even trim up the untrained ones and let them flower like a bush up top its a great feel in the garden.

I could go on and on, but alas, its just a garden habit, a personal one among many differing surely, we all have them, they often differ from the next I find. Its the most "right" way for me, after trying many techniques, this one fits here. Some growers are limited in space, mobility, knowledge, tools, equipment etc, naturally forcing them to adapt to what works best for them.

I'm betting you have some strange & differing habits too, in and outside of the garden......:P
