I have been following this thread. I started with cxa's on to cxb's and looking for what is next. I am open-minded so I look with an open mind to what works. If I don not find anything working I create it. I have been experimenting with cree Royal Blue, Far Red, Deep Red, and IR leds for a few a couple of years now. I am also experimenting with full spectrum cob's recently, as well. From my observations, I have discovered it is joules/energy or u/moles that is most important to plants not perceived light. I made a mistake a year ago, and ran some cxa 3590's 5000k at 12-25w max with 36w Royal Blue. Great vegging. I removed the Royal Blue and added a 30w full spectrum cob in it's place and see healthier plants. The full spectrum is 380nm - 830nm I believe. Mostly red and Blue and some green.
I find today, an argument over a board, similar to arguing over COB's and which bin is better, which layout is better and whom has it and so on and so forth. DIY is about sharing. If another guy gets a QB 'like' board built cheaper, than get your boards built there too, better pricing. I have been looking for what is next and Samsung is next. However, QB is not the only Samsung user. I know of others that have the same S6 bin similar design, more colors, and are not saying a word, just selling. That seems to be the best approachs action over words.
I am sorry the QB crew feels they have been stolen from, but to be copied is the highest form of flattery. I have been copied many times over the years. it hurts, but it means something. I am sure the first COB guys felt the same way, with their four cob bar. Everyone has a four cob bar now. Great for all of us. I am sure there is more than enough business to go around that we can support everyone. If one guy has it and the other guys is waiting, go for it and vice versa. I don't complain when folks throw coralux and steves leds at me and I do not even see a comparison or get any ups. But I roll for me. I think that what
@OLD MOTHER SATIVA did will drive prices down for everyone, just as in other arenas. Don't blame a DIY guy for what the industry does. We should be bigger than that.
Off my stage and back to work for my clients. peace out.
