I'm doing another shakedown hike this week. Item number one {on the piece of paper I borrowed} of my knockout list was buy a pocket notebook. Got that done, so now at least I can write down all the things I forgot to do last time. Charge your mp3 player and speaker, top off the little bottle of bug spray, top off the fuel, bring an extra empty water bottle to camel up before hitting camp, etc. etc.
And most important, 2 cents to use as a roach clip. Or find my fishing scissors/pliers, which would be even better. Everything needs to have at least two uses.

I made a hitter for the trail tonight at work. Will leave it at one of the campsites so I won't have to roll joints all the time.

I planned on fishing this hike, so I checked my permit. Went out last year, so I ran to the courthouse right before they closed today. Now I have to find a small spool of line to rig up my trekking pole rod and reel. I'll take a picture if I get it rigged up.

A lady friend of mine from years ago used a dollar bill to roll. Comes out right every time.

I rip the 1.5 Zigzags in half. No need for a big joint anyway. The gummed side always works fine. The ungummed side is a little trickier. But I learned to roll PA for Daddy when I was a little shit. Those papers were small and had no gum.

I'm out of the wilds. Got rained on this morning, but I had been saying I wanted to test my rain gear. {I need better gear} Saw two Copperheads yesterday. And one black snake.

I haven't seen a copperhead in years, but my place is full of black snakes, corn snakes, and garter snakes. My daughter's cat caught a scarlet snake the other day. At first I thought it was a coral snake! I love the nonvenomous snakes, but since my yard is a pretty thick jungle, I always try to be aware. Be safe out there!

We have lots of copperheads here at work. But since I don't do the grounds anymore, I rarely see them. The bad thing about where I was hiking, there are leaves everywhere. Those damn copperheads are almost impossible to see in the leaves.

A hundred years ago when I started this thread, part of the reason was to give tips to other clandestine growers. Here is one of those tips. When you water your plants in the holding grounds, sprinkle a little on the weeds and bushes around your plants. It will make them green up and grow faster. I gave all these around the Peach a good shot of food and water today.

After just a few uses, the new wooden hitter was tasting like crap. I found a six pack of empty Bud Lite aluminium bottles when I was dumping my trash, and used two of them to make pipes. Worked well, and will not rot when buried.

And FYI, when Bumble Bee called their Spicy Tai Chili tuna spicy, they were not lying. When mixed with noodles it is alright, but don't eat it out of the pouch unless you have a good water supply.

Yes, but I don't know how healthy it is to smoke out of it. Next time take along an apple or two!

The lemon pepper is good, so is the sun dried tomato. Beats sardines or Vienna sausage.

I like smoking joints at night when I'm in camp. But there is a good chance of running into hikers during the day, so I do one hitters. Anyway, smoking too much before a day of PUDS {pointless ups and downs} will kick your ass.
