These two plants were cuttings taken from their mother plant sometime in early/mid-February. They sat in water for a few weeks until they showed roots, and in early April, they moved into a soil-based mix (soil + perlite + v. small portion of vermicast). They live in a space bucket (similar to this) and receive light from 5 high-output CFL bulbs, with temps averaging about 27-29°C. They're mostly just getting de-chlorinated water, pH'd down between 6.1-6.3, though in the past few weeks I've given them each a few very light feedings (~15% strength starter mix of GH's Organic line)
As you can see in the photos, these girls don't look so hot. Leaves are thin and curling down which suggests possible over-watering to me (though I've also wondered if cold-shock might be partly culpable for this). Leaves are yellowing and showing purple splotches (not sure if this constitutes 'banding') and growth in general has been very, very slow.
Every few days a lower leaf or two will have discolored entirely, and they come loose from the plant without much effort. Generally, discoloration is affecting lower leaves first, but leaves near the tops of the plants are also showing some purple/reddish edging.
Thanks in advance for any advice or wisdom that this community might have to share! The mother plant produced some of the best bud I've tasted in my life, so I'm eager to keep the genes alive in these two babies!
Plant 1:
This was a "monster-crop" cutting. Was taken from mother plant during early flowering, leading to an extra-bushy veg for the cutting
A clear look at some discoloration issues
Plant 2:
Notice that even the healthier-looking leaves are dark/purple along their edges
And this is what she looked like on March 1... pretty drastic thinning-out since then
