The Truth About Flushing

Doc. You have not seen in person his flowering area or spindly plants or smoked his weed.

I have a best friend who has visited and smoked his and I have smoked a few examples and it sure doesn't work as advertised.

Anyone can make themselves look better here online.
This shit again.

Your friend. Fucking hearsay. I ordered and ended up with 3 of rm3 strains. Let me tell you. They are good. The 2 that have finished.

I also don't have nothing vested in the man. Never joined his sight or anything.

You say t5 is only good for 1 foot tall plants. Bullshit. Easily 3-4 foot.

I admit better for a scrog. Recently found them to be good for sog also.

I say its the grower. If all you got was a 1 foot plant then that's shitty growing.

I hit 3 foot easily with autos. If I wanted to I bet I could grow a 5 footer under them.

Is will say that the fixture I run has all the bulbs double stacked for 432 watts and 8 bulbs in about a 10 inch wide area by 4 foot.

Oh ok. I see. Isnt it better to not engage in a dumb argument and just say all of these kinds of things are already tools to use when necessary in horticulture.
That is one approach and very effective if you chose to ignore and not engage in what is often found especially on RIU that people come down hard on people that chose to flush. Here is one example why it's foolish to box yourself into thinking something doesn't or cannot work because of something that seems so scientific on paper.

I dont think most of us are against leaching...thats horticulture. Flushing is for toilets.

Because in horticulture the word "flushing" is not used. Its leaching.

In plumbing the word "leaching" is not used, its flushing.

You flush a toilet.
You leach salts out of a medium.
Except that in cannabis cultivation we do use the term flush and have for a long time and widely been understood without issue, and while it has a fairly loose definition relative to who you ask, it pretty much means no food in the water for whatever the purpose, we don't have many legal forums to come to agreement on convention, but it's crazy to think that some come under fire for using the practice when it's not hurting anyone.

Meh. I flower with them.

Everyone can argue back and forth. It comes down to the grower more than anything.

Now. I will agree led,the right type, is more efficient than florescent lighting.

Actually t5 is one of the most common horticulture light around the world and t5 it t8 in factory and office lighting.

I love the mixed spectrum I can get with t5. I'm actually thinking of adding led tubes to my cabinet. Maybe even cobs. I would still run t5 mixed with it.

There are certain spectrums led doesn't cover or is not cost effective like uv.

I can easily grow a 3-4 foot plant with t5 and rock hard buds.

Those pots are 15 inch wide. I know those are single cola. They were autos and I needed single cola pics.

With a scrog I could kill it with this setup.

Rock hard nugs comes more from genetics and grow temps in my opinion.
As I have a couple of times but I do seem to get better yields switching to HID but that's me and my newb ways I'm sure

I didn't say I only got a 1 foot plant out of it. You can see the limitations at even 18" in veg compared to hid.

And I told you I have smoked his strains grown by one of his friends more than a few times and a few different crosses too.

You can't grow the bushes I like in my garden and flower them as I do with any amount of t5's.

They would be too big and thick with foliage unless you surrounded 1 plant with all of them.

And I keep them under 30" tall from the pot for best results under 1200 watts of HID lighting.

Your plants look fantastic!
However,

You have little plants in a little cab. The height is not the point. The weight of product the plants are producing is. And at consistent quality all over the plant.

I have no led experience so I am not referring to them at all. (Just a disclaimer before someone tries to tell me about cobs) ;-)

How many t-5's would it take to grow these 6 plants that average almost 6 dense nugs each.

They are in #3 nursery pots. They are actually 2.5 gallons of soil volume. So over 2oz per gallon of soil.

If I grew in a little cab I would use the proper lights for the job.

The science arguments are cherry picked for he posters argument. There is no science proving anything but that we can't remove already converted and stored nutrients.

I get your point but it is still one sided.

I don't doubt better yield with hid. Im actually quite sure I would yield way more with hid as I've used it before.

I run several spectrums including uv. The smoke is better. Have I had mine tested. No but as others have stated there are plenty of studies to show uv grows more potent bud.

I grow strictly for myself. If growing for money or commercial I would go double ended hid all the way.

Its not that little.

Its 2x4x6. About half of what's in that pic. I would use 2 of my fixtures in a 4x4. 16 bulbs. 864 watts.

Those pots are 15 inches wide and hold around 5 gallons of soil.

Its a balance. If I wanted yield I would run hid. Its about quality. Its better under t5.

I think ill end up somewhere in the middle running a combo of t5 and led cobs for the best of both sides.

I use full spectrum mh and enhanced hps to gain the high quality. And for a while a cmh too but I am going to try it in a veg tent and then a full run next.

You did not mention yield in those larger pots. And that was the only point I was making and you agreed above.

and I want to add. I didn't mean little cabinet in a "belittling" way. I just meant that the t-5's will work better in a closed defined cab than it would in my open room.

The Tanning bed positioning is just a compromise to help the shortcomings of the fixtures. And I still have seen only thin low yielding plants grown in them. And stretchy. And that is the number one complaint on their site. How do I stop the stretch.

Well add more light is the answer.

but in your cab I think t-5 4' lamp is perfect. Well maybe led's but I don't know yet. Which is why I keep saying proper tools for the job and the answers to these silly arguments are varied.

And how good is your CTF compared to a great classic strain like a well grown OG for example.

Then try a CH9 Blue Lemon Thai. Any pheno from a pack will do. It's finicky like an og. And you will get varied results. But all will be better than CTF.

My statement was his weed was not "as advertised"

Or in his egotistical words. The best in the world.

It was also supposed to have specific medical benefits that it did not for any of the people I know who tried or me.

If it had been good medicine I would have had it tested and cultivated.

My friend in Colorado was comparing it to medical marijuana he already benefits from.

And now he smokes CH9 strains mostly.

We have no agenda like they do. We are selling nothing and only concerned with medical benefits and our personal high.

That is why they and you I believe are so defensive about things I never even claimed.

Missing the point entirely.

My point of referring to the wins and the flush are to stick it in the face of anyone who says it's stupid to flush.
... but 2 "Cup Wins" (highly subjective and generally "political") don't prove anything VS 1,000's of "unflushed" Cup Wins.

Optimal "diet" will lead to healthy "metabolism" and "waste". Example; how many Enemas have you had? If you say "0", then you "must be" backed up with excess waste. Right? The only reason for a flush/enema is due to unhealthy nutrient regimen/diet. Feed the wrong nutrient levels and you will require an enema/nutrient "flush". This also accounts for kidney/gallbladder/bladder stones. Appropriate nutrient vs H2O levels completely eliminates this error/enema necessity. Appropriate "water to micro/macro-nutrient" levels completely negate "flushing".

Don't believe me, just ask any "Dr"/Botanist. Why should you trust me? I'm kinda "In the Know".

Me personally - 5000K A19 LEDs

The last florescent in the house is in one of my veg rooms. It's an 8 bulb T5 that will soon be getting replaced with a 300 watt Citizen rig. The other veg room is all cobs and A19s.

You got some fancy lights in your house. :-)

I only recently started replacing incandescent with those twisty ones......;-)

I didn't even want to get into the validity of a cup winning strain.
