Bush was handed a budget surplus and turned it into a huge budget deficit which along with a tanking economy is what he handed off to Obama. in 2004 the deficit peaked to 418 billion under pub house and senate.

dems won back the house and Senate in the 2006 mid terms.

in 2008 the deficit went up to 455 billion, highest of any year under boosh 43.

in 2009 dems gained larger majorities from the 2008 elections and set an all time record deficit of 1.4 trillion.

obama did not do anything to add to the deficit, not one penny. he cut the deficit by over a trillion dollars.

so all the debt that was compiled under democratic presidents was due to the deficits given to them by republicans, and all the debt compiled under republicans was all of their own creation.

democrats did not do anything to create the debt. it is 100% the fault of the republicans.
