Cheapest grow Round 2

I am curious to see how your ladies turn out. They are looking great and I count about 10 or so good heads. I bet they are starting to smell great.
Not really a nice smell right now. Every Monday we play bridge in my basement, a few feet away from the grow tent and the cat litter box. Last week one of the guys commented on the smell thinking it was the cat litter box. We clean them every few days and Monday morning again for sure. I was standing beside the tent the other day and the air escaping the top vent hole reeked of saturated cat litter. LOL, if someone came in to check the furnace or whatever, the first thing they see going down the stairs is the cat litter boxes, then they smell the plants. I am pretty sure most folks would just think I need to clean the cat litter boxes. I did not smell that at all with the first grow so my bag seed must have had one of those catpee kush strains. o_O\

Ya, I guess I should go medicate now.

Mine were actually $125, so I spent $500 and now I have 4 of them. I realize I could buy them much cheaper but I elected to buy them from Mars Hydro to ensure I have a full and proper warranty. I am tired of buying things from jackals on e-bay who are selling who knows what that is defective half the time. But good for you if it all works out.

Yeah it already worked out, did three grows under them...now I moved on to other forms of lighting. But thats a smart approach if you are going to invest that as your primary form of light. Good luck to you! You will be very pleased with the output trust me

I agree wholeheartedly. Looking at how my plants are developing now it is a wonder that I managed to harvest what I did from my first grow. As it stands I can easily see my yield will be increased exponentially. Since I am moving next summer or sooner I had to change gears and buy a grow tent instead of building a grow room. As a renter I can only go so far. They are OK with any changes I want to make, but I have to undo it all before I move. Thanks for the encouraging words.

Thanks guys, I am pretty stoked about how well it is going. I switched to 10/14 on July 1 and I hope I can shave a week off the grow time. For sure I think I need another tent and 2 more lights o_O if I want to be self sufficient and have enough to make meds as well. I feel like I am well on my way now.

Your next adventure will be training the plants to get maximum yields from your space and lighting.
I am interested in training, but first I should focus on fine tuning nutes and on watering. I am all over the map with watering and I am never sure how much I should add each time. Now that I am increasing MY intake of healthy foods with essentials nutrients and some extras on the side with pills I am realizing how important they are to all life. I want to make sure I give my plants any essential nutrients that can improve their health and bounty at harvest.

You should top and train as well. Makes a lot of things easier and will give you a better return than playing with the nutes.

For sure. I did top them all and FIM a few as well this round. Some are so bushy and have super tight nodes that it is a wonder light can get in there at all. I can see where training can help that immensely, but I am not there yet. I have not really done anything with nutes except a few feeding with Big Bud from week 2-4 in flowering. I think I would rather make my own type of A&B rather than pays way too much for it.

I've heard great things about the hydroponic tomato formula, 4-18-38. Use it with equal parts calcium nitrate 15.5-0-0-19%Ca, half ratio of epsom salt, that is 2-2-1 ratio between the three. Mix calcium nitrate into solution separately from the other two, be sure all are fully dissolved before adding to your nutrient reservoir. From what I've heard you don't even need to adjust pH. I'd be inclined to believe that because I've been running their closely related 5-11-26 for years and pH adjustments were basically unnecessary.

EDIT: right on the home page they advertise a cannabis formula 4-20-39 If I were starting from scratch I'd get that, the calcium nitrate and epsom salt.

I know for a fact that lots of commercial cannabis growing facilities in Colorado use hydro-gardens products with great success.

I'm shooting for 60-80 tops. Before I flip it. I gotta raise my light some more to get some more stretch out of her. She's so tight it's making it difficult to tuck leaves and tie it down.
I tried to do some extra topping on a few that I had going under a single LED bulb. The lack of light power only produces string bean plants, and extra topping caused it to collapse from the weight of popcorn buds. I expect that with decent lights now I can do some extra topping in Round 4.

Strange, because my topping generally makes for stronger plants. You do want to clean things up in the understory, all it does is take away from the good stuff above.

These were one bulb plants grown with a desk lamp, 60W equivalent. I do remove lower leaves but I think I leave too much. Still on that learning curve, LOL. Rest assured I am taking notes and adding them to my grow diary.
