Yes. I am not even going to try and find a good excuse why that happened. I messed up, plain and simple. I think the light was only off for a few days though.

I unplugged it when I had to re-position it to raise it higher. I am sure I did not need to unplug it but I have been zapped a few times in the past and I am over cautious with anything electrical.

I just grabbed 3x 70w of these to try in my 2x4' veg tent, 2x 6000k and 1x 3000k. I've used similar (older, like 3 years ago) Chinese COBs in my breeding tent and got 1 gpw, these in theory should do better on paper and haven't seen anything cheaper, even the Mars are more expensive. Mind you, these are passively cooled by the heat sink on the body and take a hell of a lot more overhead space so you need some height available. Heat output will be more (than the Mars, much less than HID/hps) being passively cooled but I need some extra heat in my veg tent so not a problem for me.

What kind of drivers are you using for these? Or are they just straight a.c. voltage? And I can't find anywhere on there where it shows what Kelvin they are. Other than cool white, warm white, and daylight. I know daylight is usually 6000k-6500k

For those I linked out to, they are pre-built lights, including drivers. All you have to select is the colour temperature you want, and voltage. When you receive them, everything is assembled, only thing you need to do is wire a power chord on, the wires are sticking out/pre-wired but bare, about 10" long.

As far as colours, those are only available in the warm-white (3000k), or cold white (6000k), they have the specs for the colours further down the page. See copy/paste below.

The cheapest grow is coming along very nice. Just wondering if when you first flipped to 12/12 did your tops look yellow? As you know I am using the same light and I started flowering. Here is a picture of day 3 flower.

My soil is a bit alkaline however, I have been giving here 6.0 to 6.5 PH'd water. I started foliar feeding cal mag to her again thinking she needs calcium. The deficiency chart says it is that or copper and maybe zinc. I am wondering if this is just the way this particular strain is going into flower.

Think I may give her some Tiger Bloom next time around and see if that helps. Hey do you have any new pics? Looks like your ladies are getting mature.

Pics will be on Sunday, I usually do them once a week. My plants did not turn yellow or anything else after I flipped them. I only fed them Big Bud from AN starting at week 2.

Can't wait to see week 4.
I read somewhere that some strains do look lighter on top when they go into flower. I checked with a normal light and they are green just a little lighter. The LED makes them look weird.
Do you have any idea how long your ladies will need to flower for? I believe mine will take 45-60 days. I am pretty sure they are MOB which is a 45 day flower. I really hope so.
I am curious to see how your ladies turn out. They are looking great and I count about 10 or so good heads. I bet they are starting to smell great.

I hear you. Sometimes with the lights on they look all kinds of colours. It is bag seed so I just watch and wait until the trichs have nice bulbous heads, then I chop. Now that I have more powerful lights I am going to switch to 10/14 and see if I can finish at 8 weeks. I can count about 10 good buds on one stem of the tall one. The pics on Sunday are going to be awesome.

Happy Canada Day. Decided to take pics early since this crappy weather makes me too sore to do much else. The tall plant has some yellowing on the bottom leaves, seems healthy otherwise. The short one (last) has had some curling of the leaves, some were crispy and a few had brown blotches. I will take a separate pick of that soon.

Wow! They are looking good. The one that has the leaves curling looks to be overfeed. A good flush should do wonders. I am sure that tall one is fine. The bottom leaves are more than likely not getting enough light to be worth it so the plant kills them off.
All the leaves that I did not pull on the underside of my SCROG did the same thing. I just let them be until they come right off. You can take them off if you want I just don't like to.

I know the weather around here has been crappy too. Always nice to see the ladies are doing well.

Also I was wondering if you gave them any kind of Cal-Mag supplement? The booklet that the light comes with says you may need to give them more cal-mag. I have been giving my lady Earth Juice Cal-Mag with Humic acid.

Well I am going to focus my attention on nutes now that I have lights and grow rooms all setup. There are so damn many products out there that it all becomes a giant sea of spin and everybody has the best product. I have been thinking of getting some A & B.

Learn about nutes and you'll discover that hydro nutes are astonishingly overpriced.

N-P-K, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, iron and a few other micro nutrients, all water soluble and that's all you need.

IMHO they are all over priced. I am going to dig into the science and research this for a few months. My focus will be on making as much from natural sources as possible, like eggshells for one example. I know it is going to take a while but in the end I will at least know exactly what will be in it. So it is off to Google land for me, LOL. One of my computer clients was a botanist (retired now), so I will see if I can pick her brain when I have trouble with something. This should fill in some of my new found boredom now that my brain is on NZT.

The definition of hydroponics is independent of substrate type; if one is delivering nutrients via the water, it's hydroponics.

If one has amended or fortified the soil/substrate and are just adding water, it's not.

Hybrid approaches are of course also possible.

I know there are many different nutrients and it can get overwhelming. If you go with a good organic mix like Fox Farms Ocean Forest you can grow them all the way through. I would add a bit of Big Bloom or something in flower but, you can just do without.
I have started using Coast of Maine soil which is all organic and made just for Cannabis. If you want to make your own super soil like that it is not to difficult with a bit of research.

There's one Canadian manufacturer of dry salt based nutes and apparently they've developed one for MJ. Haven't tried them yet but likely similar to Jack's which I've used outdoor. Reason I mention this one is Jack's is not sold retail here so very expensive once you add shipping, costs about as much for shipping as the product itself.

Mine were actually $125, so I spent $500 and now I have 4 of them. I realize I could buy them much cheaper but I elected to buy them from Mars Hydro to ensure I have a full and proper warranty. I am tired of buying things from jackals on e-bay who are selling who knows what that is defective half the time. But good for you if it all works out.
