no problem happy to helpAwsom thanks for putting up with all my question!
With that driver you are supposed to wire in parallel I don't believe you can have two parallel strings like how you have it wired now. None of the boards should be wired together. Each board should get a lead from the positive and negative of the driver. You need 8 pieces of wire, two leads for each board one negative and the other positive. Can someone confirm if this is the correct wiring? I'm afraid of turning it on and burning out my QBs. Would hate to waste 700 bux
That is correct wiring. Each set of boards should be in a separate lead from driver. Can someone confirm if this is the correct wiring? I'm afraid of turning it on and burning out my QBs. Would hate to waste 700 bux
If a 120-1400 pulls 180 at the wall but also my 185-1400 pulls 185 from the wall. Which would be best to run 4 boards surrounded by cobs? I have both drivers so may be able to swap around if one is better than the other?2 boards on a hlg120h c1400a would veg that area well. That's about 170 watts at the wall.
Thank you! I'll post my review soon! I turned it on in the middle of my living room and it lite up my whole apartment! This thing is super bright! That is correct wiring. Each set of boards should be in a separate lead from driver.

185 is a bit more efficient and will run cooler as you won't be utilizing the entire driver (longer life from cooler operation) not that it matters meanwells are solid. If a 120-1400 pulls 180 at the wall but also my 185-1400 pulls 185 from the wall. All lighting generates the same heat per watt. Is how much light can I get for what wattage that matters. More efficient lights such as QBs are from 2.3-3.0 umol/j will require less wattage to achieve the desired light level..... Thus less heat....How much heat do the QB generate?
I run 2 boards with a 185, does very well at 12inches above canopy in a 3x3.@Stephenj37826 would it be worth running 4 boards at 42w each on the 185 do you think? Would it be worth it if running between 9 cxb 3590s at 30w each? Or just run 2 at a higher wattage for when I crank up the cxbs?
I have all this light but can't decide how best to utilise it so I don't waste it
Thanks for the reply I have no doubt with meanwells I won't use others
Buy another tent insteadThat's what I do now with my cobs around it but have 2 doing nothing so thinking I could add them for more efficency
I'm guessing 2 qbs will be fine. The added efficiency isn't that great vs cost imho. Butttt if you are running your come that duct it may be the 2.0+ gpw people are hoping for lol.@Stephenj37826 would it be worth running 4 boards at 42w each on the 185 do you think?
