I think his statement he could shoot someone and not loose support is one of the rare true things he says.
I think that fact is indicitave he has built his base into a cult... hes a fool, but god hes a genius at winning the hearts of far too many... he has turned the gop stances on major things and no one in that camp questioned it... Hawkishness with Russia, free trade, etc..
Even Republicans used to expect more out of their politicians than this. Im a liberals liberal, but i beleive we need a well functioning, intellectual, pricipled but notnto point of being uncimpromising conservative party. The GOP is no longer this, they brought it on themselves. The Limbaughs, oreilies, hannity types along with Fox and embracing every lunatic fringe laid the groundwork for a Trump type candidate... they conditionedntheir sheep for decades to bit by bit be non critical thinking followersvof whatever the neocon magisteruim preached at any moment, to accept lies as truths and facts as negatable...
