Black dog led vs kind led

Well Jimmy, if money is not an object and with your space I would be tempted to try the best of both worlds and compare them with my own eyes. Some DE HPS vs Some highly efficient LEDs. See what you think of both. I'm certain both will be better than those expensive over marketed BlackDogs.

Been looking at the cobs.. so would you recommend them? And did you DIY or buy a "kit" sorry for all the questions new to indoor trying to get it right first try lol
I definitely recommend them. I bought several kits from timber. In my opinion they are a great company to do business, they have awesome customer service; and offer an excellent product. I'm in no way affiliated with them or any led company, I paid good money for my setup. I will always recommend and stand behind a great product in any category of life. That is why i recommend them. These two hps guys trolling this thread have boners for led for some reason, and can be found trolling countless led threads. Spend some time looking through these threads and you'll see them and a couple other hps guys invading the led section repeatedly. But hps has been outperformed and will never again be the best light on the market. I guess that makes them sad. Best of luck to you in whatever setup you end up going with

LOL, i think it is the LED guys who run around all butthurt and get all pissed when someone says HPS would be better for someone's situation.

Op working with no Budget but space limited to 13 feet wide by 15 long by 7.5 tall skill wise only does organic super soil in fabric pots but have experience in DWC not much but few grows... so many nutes on the market id waste to much money without good advice that's why I created this account lol.... I enjoy the idea of having super soil that can be used for many years living soil is cool
worry less about nutes and provide optimal conditions. I prefer a sealed room with c02 and a ductless a/c for temp control. dehu for rh control. The lights are gonna come down to how much $$ you want to part with. Like was stated. LED can run you upwards of 6 grand to cover that space. you can build 3 rooms with all the fixins for that with DE lights. and I would recommend nanolux over gavitas for the DE.
The DE will require the a/c to keep the room cool, but I keep reading that LED have heat issues too, so,there is that to consider.

Great info bro really apreciate it getting into researching those later tonight
The question is, do you want pre-manufactured "plug and play" lights, or are you willing to do some DIY building - nothing complex, making frames from aluminum angle/channel, and connecting wires to a power supply.

If the latter is an option, I would highly recommend looking into Samsung F series strips, or Bridgelux EB strips in 3500K. They come in 11", 22" and 44" lengths. At about $14 per strip (44") I think these are far more cost effective than COBs. 18 strips on 3/4" aluminum channel spaced 2" apart covers a 4'x4' area at $250. Cost of framing them together, maybe another $50. Another $50-100 for power supplies. So $400 per 4x4 area. Efficiency, in terms of photons per watt, could be 30% higher than HPS.

Would it just be better to use somthing else like MH or HID? I want to cover a 15x13 foot area with the best available lights
for an area that large I would look into CMH lights.LEDs would be very expensive and the commercial growers up here do not use them. many are switching from HPS to CMH which are the best selling lights at the local hydro shops

No budget just looking for best lights honestly I'm an out door grower new to lights and wanted to have the best I could for my room 13x15 8 foot ceilings
perhaps before you invest in lights for an area that large you should try a small test grow with the lights your considering to find what works best for you. my LED test grows are done in a 2ft by 2ft closet.a 150 watt HPS fixture cost $60 and will handle MH and CMH bulbs as well https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KMW7RYM/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I16MXY1M60S5MV&colid=AW7UKM9ED6GM white LED light bulbs are cheap as well. successful businessman know that R@D is an important part of starting a business. the first dispensary opened in Nevada made the mistake of not testing lights first and ended up changing a whole commercial grow room lighting a few month after opening.you are making a big move. be patient and do your own test to make sure you get it right

Definitly good idea but wouldn't alot of things change from a "tent" or "closet" grow to room grow I feel that big a jump I would allow for possibly different results. .. ?

I just told OP to be careful WHO he takes his info from. and THEY changed it from LED vS LED to both of those suck, here is ours.
Up until this point people, not just those who sell rigs said they both suck. Can you point to where "they" recommended "their" rigs?

Do they get very hot though?

not really. with any indoor grow you control the environment regardless of the size of your grow room. I do a 3 plant summer grow in my patio using the same soil and feed. just larger pots.indoors you control the temperature and humidity regardless of room size and a light will work the same when you scale it up for a larger room.

this all day long

a good test is to replace a 1000 with 700W of LED in a 4x4 and see if you yield the same
