my rig if you can call it that is a six foot ugly stick, and a zebco 33 with 10 lb test. I would imagine somewhere the first 33 i ever bought is still working or easily repairable, and probably still casts a country mile lol.
black and blue worm is a sweet combo, I'm so far out of date on gear all i know are the older ones, i grew up with subscriptions to field and stream and bassmasters magazine.
The first issue i had was when that guy out in Cali caught the near record largemouth in lake Castaic, he caught it on a live crawdad i think, or maybe that was the original record can't remember.
Apparently the local fishery service had flooded Castaic with both Florida hybrid monster bass and fatty rainbow trout. The bass ate the trout like a buffet and got big. The guy was something like five ounces short of the record, a good size baitfish, and a million dollar prize Plus endorsement deals from gear companies. Not sure if the old record still stands
